It has been nearly two decades since Tracy Beaker was axed from our screens.

But you would hardly tell by looking as three of the stars have reunited at Comic Con Cardiff on Sunday.

Dani Harmer, now 35, was joined by her co-stars Ciaran Joyce and Nisha Nayar at the fan event in south Wales.

Nisha is best known to fans as Elaine ‘The Pain’ Boyak, a long-serving social worker, while Ciaran played loveable Lol Plakova.

The trio posed for fun snaps together backstage at the event, which Nisha has shared over on her Instagram.

The Story Of Tracy Beaker ran for four years and finished with the lead character getting adopted in 2005.

Following the success of The Story Of Tracy Beaker, fans were then treated to several spin offs.

Tracy Beaker Returns aired from 2010 to 2012, again with Dani at the helm as Tracy.

The Story Of Tracy Beaker ran for four years and finished with the lead character getting adopted in 2005.

She also starred in the 2004 feature length film Tracy Beaker: The Movie Of Me.

The Dumping Ground aired from 2013 to 2018 on CBBC but did not feature Dani, Ciaran or Elaine.

Now a mum-of-two, Dani has continued to expand the Tracy Beaker franchise and returned to play her iconic character in the mini series My Mum Tracy Beaker in 2021.

In the updated series, Tracy is now a doting single mother to her daughter Jess, who is played by Emma Maggie Davis.

Speaking on the huge changes in Tracy’s life, author Jacqueline told Dani: ‘For Tracy, her biggest thing as a child was not having a mum being there for her and therefore I thought the biggest thing in her adult life would be to be that mum who was there for her daughter Jess all the time.’

Dani then reflected on her own experiences as a mother, with the star raising daughter Avarie-Belle with partner Simon Brough.

She said: ‘Being a mother myself, it completely changes you. So it’s been really nice to play Tracy and see how she’s lost that selfishness that she once has and she’s all just about Jess.

‘But at the same time, she hasn’t lost herself. She’s still this fierce, strong female that she’s always been.’

Dani began playing the iconic role of Tracy Beaker in 2002 when she was just 12-years-old.

And the former Strictly star reminisced about growing up famous, and noted how at one point, she didn’t want to be known as Tracy Beaker after being constantly called by her alter-ego’s name.

She said ‘When I was younger, I used to get called Tracy a lot more than I got called Dani. At one point I was like ‘oh, can I just not be Tracy, just for a minute!’.
