Belarus’ democratic opposition leader has reportedly gone missing following a ‘honeytrap sex scandal’ involving a ‘spy married to a seduction coach’.
Anzhalika Melnikava, 37, once a prominent and outspoken critic of Alexander Lukashenko’s regime, mysteriously vanished from her home in Poland earlier this year after reportedly transferring £110,000 in opposition funds into her personal bank account.
Now, a bombshell investigation claims the former spokeswoman for the Belarus Coordination Council – aligned with exiled democratic leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya – was seduced and compromised by an undercover agent who used a false identity to infiltrate the opposition.
Her lover, named as Alexei Lobeev, 32, travelled the world with Melnikava on luxury getaways, including Sri Lanka and Cuba, before vanishing with her in early March.
But sources now say Lobeev is in fact a crack operative for Belarus’ military intelligence, using a fake passport under the alias Aliaksei Hardzeyeu.
In a chilling twist, Lobeev is said to be ‘happily married’ in real life to a woman named Maryna – herself suspected to be a spy and a self-styled ‘seduction coach’, who reportedly trains others in the art of manipulation.
She is believed to be attached to the same military unit as her husband and connected to Belarus’ shadowy GRU intelligence service.
Melnikava’s descent into the murky world of espionage reportedly began over a year ago, with insiders claiming she may have been feeding sensitive information to Belarusian, and possibly Russian, intelligence for 18 months.

According to Russian investigative outlet The Insider, her stress began mounting last year, with friends noting she had gained weight and suffered multiple ‘nervous breakdowns’.
She was last seen flying to London on February 25, then to Sri Lanka, where she reunited with Lobeev at the Araliya Beach Resort and Spa – one of their previous tryst locations.
By March 7, she had flown to Dubai with her two daughters from her earlier ‘open marriage’ with Andrei Melnikau and hasn’t been seen since.
Experts have warned the damage to the exiled Belarusian opposition could be catastrophic.
‘She had access to lists of the Belarusian opposition leaders who are abroad, who provide financial support to the Belarusian opposition,’ said renowned journalist Christo Grozev, who has investigated several Russian and Belarusian intelligence operations.
‘The damage from persuading her to spy for at least the Belarusian, and possibly for the Russian, special services cannot be called minor’.
Images have appeared to show Lobeev alongside a high-ranking GRU officer, strengthening suspicions of his official status.
Meanwhile, his wife Maryna continues to run coaching courses on seduction, despite her links to a Belarusian military unit.
The full extent of the operation remains unknown, but fears are growing that Melnikava, once a trusted figure with the democratic movement, may now be fully under the control of Lukashenko’s ruthless intelligence machine.

Regarding Lobeev’s spouse, Grosev said: ‘His wife quite likely is a spy too.
‘And most likely they work for the Belarusian military intelligence GRU not the KGB because we see him on photos with a GRU boss.
‘On top of that, his actual wife is also registered at a military unit, she does not disclose her ties to intelligence and runs seduction courses’.
Democratic leader Tsikhanouskaya expressed deep concern in April, saying there was ‘no credible information to make conclusions about her whereabouts or what has happened to her’.
She admitted: ‘Of course, we are all concerned and worried.
‘But in such circumstances I wouldn’t want to speculate on this subject.
‘Polish police are now involved in the investigation and the Prosecutor’s Office.
‘I am thankful to everyone who’s making an effort to search for Anzhalika.’
Meanwhile, Belarusian opposition partisans have vowed to track down Melnikava and expose the spies behind this bizarre tale of seduction and espionage.
