Medics were called in to tend to a Celebrity Bake Off star as they were heard shrieking in the background after suffering from a painful injury on Sunday night’s episode.

The latest series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up returned to our screens earlier this month.

This week influencer Molly-Mae Hague, comedian Richard Herring, singer JoJo Siwa and comedian Babatunde Aléshé battled it out to make the tastiest treats.

The Signature Challenge saw them may a tray bake of their choice, while they had to bake a tarte tatin for their Technical Challenge.

But during their second task, one of the famous faces ended up hurting themselves and needed medical assistance in the tent.

While the camera was focused on JoJo doing her thing, Richard was heard saying: ‘Ow!’ as he cut into an apple.

He then shouted out: ‘I’ve cut my finger!’

Moments later host Alison Hammond could be seen looking very worried in front of the camera as a medic rushed to help Richard.

Alison told the camera: ‘There has been an injury.

‘It’s all going off. The medic is in.’

She continued: ‘Richard might need CPR from me.’

Richard said: ‘I am going to carry on!’

Alison then asked the medic: ‘Is he going to be okay?! That is all I want to know.’

The medic replied: ‘Yeah, he is going to be fine.’

Elsewhere in the episode influencer Molly-Mae was awarded Star Baker.

The Showstopper Challenge was next where they had to all bake a 3D biscuit toy – with Molly-Mae making a replica of her famous Love Island Ellie Belly teddy.

After the success of her blue and purple biscuit she was crowned Star Baker as she exclaimed: ‘My inner bake off fan is screaming right now!’

Paul commented of her win: ‘She was the most consistent and I did give her a handshake!’

After the show Molly-Mae took to Instagram to reflect on the experience as she shared snaps from filming.

She penned: ‘Still trying to process that this even happened1! Taking part in Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer was honestly one of the most insane experiences of my life.

‘Just so grateful to have been part of something so special for such an incredible cause… I’ll truly never get over it @su2cuk @britishbakeoff.’

It comes after last week Celebrity Bake Off judge Cherish Finden made her debut on the Channel 4 show as Joe Wilkinson was crowned Star Baker.

The hit programme returned on Sunday, with host Alison Hammond introducing the ‘very special’ guest judge.

Her appearance follows the departure of Prue Leith from the main series after nine seasons, with Nigella Lawson stepping into her role.

Cherish wasted no time settling in, quickly making an impression with a series of X-rated jokes.

The first episode saw a group of returning comedians enter the tent, including Joe Wilkinson, Roisin Conaty, Rose Matafeo, Judi Love, Tom Davis, and Jon Richardson.

They first took on breakfast pastries in the Signature challenge, with Rose earning a coveted Hollywood handshake.

However, Cherish was particularly impressed by Tom’s dish, saying: ‘I like his sausage, I thought his sausage was really tasty.’

Paul Hollywood replied: ‘I’m sorry?’

Noel Fielding added: ‘You like his sausage?’

‘No, you know what I mean,’ Cherish laughed.

However, Cherish wasn’t the only one to make a cheeky joke, as Alison made her own tongue in cheek remark about his dish, adding: ‘Thank you, Tom – I’d eat your sausage all day long.’

Cherish then set the group the task of baking matcha and yuzu biscuits for the Technical, where Jon came first.

Paul commented of her win: 'She was the most consistent and I did give her a handshake!'

Nearing the end of the episode, Noel asked Cherish if she had enjoyed her time on the show.

Speaking about Paul, she said: ‘I’ve had a great time. He is a master-baker.’

‘A what?’ Noel Fielding asked.

‘Master-baker,’ Cherish repeated.

‘A couple letters out,’ Noel joked, leaving the cheeky innuendo un missed.

As the episode came to an end, Joe was crowned the star baker as he impressed the judges with all three of his dishes.

Speaking of his win, he said: ‘Wow, I’m shocked. First person to win the baking twice, wow.

‘I thought there would be more of a party atmosphere.’

Paul said: ‘Joe won Star Baker as he was certainly the most consistent baker over the three challenges.

‘You can tell he’s a decent baker. Very, very good.’

Ahead of her debut on the show, Cherish said that she was ‘delighted to be joining Paul in judging Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C’.

She added: ‘Whilst I definitely haven’t left my ruler at home, judging these wonderful celebrities is about more than just precision, it’s about spreading joy and supporting a meaningful cause.’

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer is available to stream on Channel 4.
