The Princess of Wales boasts an impressive handbag collection, with a number of British brands firmly in rotation.
One of her favourites is DeMellier, celebrated for its minimalist aesthetic and timeless designs that strike the perfect balance between practicality and elegance.
While Kate already owns the label’s Nano Montreal bag in toffee and navy, she recently introduced a new addition to her wardrobe: the Small Hudson in mocha suede, which she carried during a visit to the Anna Freud Centre in November 2025.
Royal watchers were quick to swoon over the arm candy, and it’s easy to see why – the compact design is ideal for essentials, with the sumptuous suede finish and gold-plated hardware transitioning seamlessly from day to night.
Kate repeated the look on Christmas Day, accessorising with the bag as she attended the traditional church service in Sandringham with the Royal Family.
Unsurprisingly, the Princess’ appearances caused the bag to swiftly sell out – but it’s now returned to stock for spring.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Small Hudson is thoughtfully designed. A central leather flap with a magnetic closure keeps belongings secure, while an internal zip pocket offers a safe place for valuables. Expandable side panels also provide extra space when needed.
The bag can be worn by the structured top handle – Kate’s preferred styling – or with the adjustable, removable shoulder strap for added versatility.
Rendered in rich chocolate brown, a shade dominating current trend charts, it offers a sophisticated alternative to classic black.
