An Italian waiter was left red-faced after his attempt to show off his football skills at a restaurant in Naples backfired.
CCTV footage shows him performing keepy uppies and round-the-world tricks before accidentally backheeling the ball into a wine glass, which smashes into a customer’s face.
Two nearby diners are seen chatting over drinks as the waiter kicks the ball around, while an impressed colleague applauds his skills.
But things take a turn when he loses control and tries to recover with a showy backheel.
The ball ricochets off a wall and into a customer’s glass, shattering it and sending shards across the table and floor.
The waiter rushes over to the woman as his colleague laughs and claps.

It is not the only bar blunder to make headlines.
In 2020, a waiter’s prank ended painfully when he smashed face-first into a concrete bollard.
Kyle Broadhurst, from Edinburgh, was caught on camera messing around on his last day at Haven Seton Sands Holiday Village in Port Seton, East Lothian.
The 22-year-old tried to burst a bag of water by jumping on it, but slipped and crashed into the pillar.
Footage shows him, wearing a black face mask and apron, leaping onto the bag, which bursts beneath him and sprays water across the car park.
As it pops under his feet, he slips and slams into the concrete structure, his head jolting backwards.
Despite the impact, he looks up at the camera before laughing and gesturing for filming to stop.
The clip was filmed by his colleague Ffion Wynne, who said the bag – usually filled with slush mix – had been filled with water to clean the machine’s pipes.
She shared the footage on Facebook, captioning it: ‘Kyle Broadhurst’s last day in work – one to remember!’
