From high society weddings to days out at the races, this summer has seen a myriad of well-dressed men… but some have made more of an impression than others, if the results of the Daily Mail’s extensive poll are anything to go by.

The Prince of Wales, 44, proved to be the king of fashion – winning top spot for his traditional formal morning dress, top hat and tails at his cousin Peter Phillips’ nuptials to Harriet Sperling in June.

He was also lauded for his sophisticated Royal Ascot appearance, wearing yellow flowers at the lapel to complement his wife Kate’s striking ensemble.

Elsewhere, the following month, actor Tom Hiddleston, 45, was dapper in a series of luxury Ralph Lauren outfits at Wimbledon – but particularly made a mark on day 11, with a striped dress shirt and patterned tie.

Celebrity chef Marcus Wareing’s cream suit and dusky blue tie – worn on day five of the tennis championship – also garnered positive reviews from the survey.

And always effortlessly elegant, Hollywood star Stanley Tucci, 65, too made the top five for his elegant off-white suit at SW19 last month.

However, some gentlemen failed to make a sartorial statement. Radio DJ Greg James, 40, scored just 15.6 per cent of positive votes as he made a Wimbledon appearance in beige chinos, a black blazer and white shirt.

Denim-jacket clad Paapa Essiedu and Hozier, in all-beige, also failed to win over voters at the tennis event this summer, but it was Dermot Kennedy, 34, who earned bottom spot in pastel blue trousers and a cream top.

Meanwhile, at the Chelsea Flower Show, pollsters also raised eyebrows at presenter Nick Grimshaw’s jeans and Bobby Brazier’s trench coat.
