A Jewish taxi driver who went viral after throwing out an ‘antisemitic’ passenger from his car has today insisted: ‘I’m proud of my reaction – I would do it again.’

Footage of the moment the furious 58-year-old London black cab driver told his female fare to ‘get the f*** out’ after she ranted about the ‘Jewish machine’ has been viewed more than a million times since being posted on X yesterday.

Antisemitism campaigners championed the married father-of-two’s no-nonsense stance, with former Conservative leadership hopeful Tom Tugendhat MP hailing it ‘the correct response to racism’ in a tweet in X, formerly Twitter.

Speaking to MailOnline, the proud Jew – who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals from pro-Palestine activists – vowed he would do it again in a heartbeat as he today warned the scourge of antisemitism was ‘everywhere’.

‘I think I was quite restrained on that journey,’ he added. ‘I’m proud of my reaction, It could have been a lot worse. OK, I said “get the f*** out of my cab”.

‘But I would like to say I was professional. I would act exactly the same way again. I have a zero tolerance for any racism. Any racism. I won’t stand for it.’

The man, who has been a taxi driver for 28 years, picked up the woman and two other people from Swallow Street, in Piccadilly, at 10.40pm on Halloween.

But ‘within seconds’ of their journey beginning, the woman launched into her rant, which was recorded on dashcam.

The passenger says: ‘It’s so easy to trigger people nowadays… The Jewish machine is so strong. It doesn’t allow you to talk. But again, there are so many examples of me showing you brutalisation of Palestinians.’

It’s then that her irate driver interrupts and rages: ‘Right, you can get the f*** out of my cab. Out. Out.’

‘Why,’ asks the woman, before the 58-year-old father shouts back: ‘The Jewish machine doesn’t allow you to talk!?’

‘You’re an example of that,’ replies the passenger as she gets out the taxi and a door slams shut.

‘Out you go, out you go. Antisemites out… You’re an antisemite,’ finishes the furious taxi driver.’

The man – who lives in the Greater London area – said he posted his video to Facebook before it then ‘blew up and went viral’ after being shared by others.

Speaking of the footage, he added: ‘I wanted people to see that we as Jews are facing ubiquitous antisemitism. It’s absolutely everywhere.

‘If you don’t get up and don’t stand up you get trodden on. It was important for people to see that you don’t let this kind of behaviour stand.’

As well as receiving praise from Tom Tugendhat, the taxi driver was also commended by the Campaign Against Antisemitism.

A spokesman told MailOnline: ‘Nowhere, it seems, is immune to antisemitism right now. The only way to overcome this horrible trend is to ostracise those who express racist views against Jews.

‘This cabbie is right to eject this woman from his taxi. He shouldn’t have to listen to racist talk. People like that can walk.’

The cabbie said despite the broadly positive reactions, he now feared for violent reprisals from pro-Palestine supporters amid a growing wave of antisemitism in London as the war between Israel and Hamas continues to rage.

The driver, whose family has lived in the UK for more than 200 years, added he felt so unsafe he was thinking of fleeing to another country.

He said: ‘I’m not a wallflower but my wife is nervous about our kids and where they travel. We’re not far potentially from the point where we might have to get our suitcases out, like the Jews in Europe once did, and get the hell out of Dodge. It’s becoming like Germany was in the 1930s with the Nazis.

‘I don’t think we’re overblowing it. I absolutely don’t feel safe. I’m not an outwardly Jewish looking guy. I don’t wear outwardly Jewish-looking clothes. But you certainly have to be careful. A lot of people have got their heads on a swivel.’

In a message to the government, the driver said: ‘Jews need to feel safe just as Muslims and black people and Christians need to feel safe

‘We’re getting to a point where we’re feeling unwelcome in our own homes.’

He added: ‘I don’t think there’s a safe place in the world for Jews other than Israel at the moment .’

The footage comes amid a surge of antisemitism in the capital following the war between Hamas and Israel.

There has been a 1,350 per cent increase in hate crimes against Jewish people as the Middle East crisis erupted, the Metropolitan Police has warned.

Islamophobic offences in London were up by 140 per cent.

Pro-Palestine activists continue to cause mayhem in London following a series of large scale marches.

On Thursday evening, protesters surrounded the Labour constituency office of MP Rushanara Ali after she abstained from Wednesday’s Gaza ceasefire vote in Parliament, saying she has ‘shown her career is more important than human rights’.

It came after hundreds of schoolchildren took to the streets of London earlier in the day chanting ‘Israel is a terrorist state’ in the latest pro-Palestine demonstration to hit the capital.

On Wednesday evening, activists from one of the marches sparked outrage after being filmed scaling the Royal Artillery Memorial in London’s Hyde Park.

Footage shows a policeman in a blue high-vis remonstrating with a demonstrator standing on a ledge of the war memorial  just above several wreaths of poppies.

But the man ignores him and – when a man in the background shouts ‘brother, that’s disrespectful’ – the yob appears to reply ‘yeah it is, that’s why I done [sic]’.

Another group of officers appeared to simply watch on as the offensive scenes unfolded. The Met expressed its ‘regret’ for the way officers handled the incident but insisted no laws had been broken.

And Met chief Sir Mark Rowley doubled down yesterday, saying: ‘What the officer didn’t do last night was make up a law that it’s illegal to do something and do an arrest which would have been illegal, clearly.’

Home Secretary James Cleverly, who served in the Royal Artillery, called the demonstration ‘deeply disrespectful’ and suggested laws could be changed to give police powers to prevent protesters clambering over war memorials.

Downing Street called the incident an ‘affront’ which will have ‘appalled’ the public. A spokesman said police already had ‘extensive powers available to them’ but Rishi Sunak would ‘look at what further measures are needed’.

Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer added: ‘The Met has a lot of powers they can use, and should be using, and I’ll work with colleagues to toughen the law. Let’s see those thugs dishonouring our war dead in handcuffs.’

However, Tory MP Neil O’Brien suggested the activists could have been arrested under existing laws.

Calling the Met ‘pathetic’, he wrote: ‘This is ”disorderly behaviour” under Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 and they should have been arrested. In 2016 Greenpeace protestors who just put an air pollution mask on the statue of Nelson were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.’

Earlier, on Armistice Day, hundreds of thousands of protesters clogged the streets of the capital in what was the biggest pro-Palestinian rally in the UK since Hamas attach Israel last month.

The rally led to police launching a ‘hate crime’ probe after multiple demonstrators were pictured carrying antisemitic placards.

At least 300,000 protesters marched Park Lane near Hyde Park to the US embassy in Vauxhall as part of the demonstration calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Police made 126 arrests at the rally and nine officers were left injured.

The force said it was also ‘actively seeking’ two men pictured wearing alleged Hamas-style headbands their balaclava and scarf-covered faces and has vowed to take ‘proactive action’ once they have been identified.

Far-right activists also caused mayhem in the capital earlier on Saturday as they attempted to storm the Cenotaph during the Armistice Day service.  It led to violent clashes between riot police and some of the protesters.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said the ugly scenes in London ‘utterly disrespects’ the spirit of Remembrance and condemned ‘wholly unacceptable’ actions by both far-right groups and ‘Hamas sympathisers’ on the pro-Palestinian march. He also put pressure on police by saying ‘all criminality must be met with the full and swift force of the law’.

The Met has shared photos on X of several people wanted for ‘hate crimes’ committed at the march.

Among those wanted by police is a woman who was seen carrying a placard depicting sacked Home Secretary Suella Braverman and Mr Sunak as coconuts, which is a racist term used to imply that someone has betrayed their race.

One demonstrator was pictured carrying a sing that showed the Jewish Star of David wrapped around a Nazi swastika with the slogan: ‘No British politician should be a “friend of Israel”.’

Also spotted in the crowds were signs with the slogan ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ which the Home Secretary said has become ‘a staple of antisemitic discourse’.

Others on the march had effigies of dead babies to highlight their demands for a ceasefire.

A Palestinian flag was also wrapped around a First World War memorial near London’s Wellington Arch, with protesters later seen climbing the statue.

Officers detained and arrested scores of counter-protesters at the rally, which the Met said was attended by 300,000 people. Organisers allege the latest estimate was ‘more than 800,000’.

Huge crowds waved black, red, white and green Palestinian flags and held aloft placards proclaiming ‘Stop Bombing Gaza’, shouting ‘free Palestine’, ‘ceasefire now’ and ‘Israel is a terror state’.
