A six-foot-tall woman has opened up about her struggle to date due to her height – claiming that her immense size often leaves men ‘insecure.’

Like most young women in their 20s, Saranya Kari, 26, from Texas, is on a quest to find her soulmate.

But the student, who is six-feet tall, has had a rough time connecting with Mr. Right, and she thinks her long physique is to blame.

Saranya believes that men who are shorter than her ‘hate’ not having the attention on them, so she has now decided to only date people who are taller than her.

But that has been just as difficult because she has found that many guys ‘lie’ about their size on dating apps – and are shocked to see how tall she is in the flesh.

‘It’s hard being this tall and [being a] female and trying to date,’ she admitted to What’sTheJam recently.

‘Honestly, as much as [shorter men] claim to love being with a taller woman, they actually were insecure about it.’

Saranya explained that many guys that she has matched with online have heights over six-foot listed in their profiles.

But when she meets them in person, she  has often been left disappointed when she discovers that they are actually shorter than her.

‘When you are dating behind a screen, anything can be lied about,’ she continued.

‘I have lost track of how many times a man has claimed they are taller than six-foot and then I show up and realize they are not.

‘I [once] matched with someone who claimed he was over six-foot. He was also cute, so I decided to go on the date.

‘I show up and I am looking around for this guy, but then someone approaches me and he was five-foot-10 at best.

‘He looked shocked and said: “Oh wow, I didn’t expect you to actually be this tall.” I was genuinely confused because on Hinge I have it stated as six foot for my height.

‘The rest of the night he tried to convince me he was six-foot – or that he was six foot if he wore the right shoes. Honestly, I should have left after realizing he lied to me.’

She called the process ‘frustrating’ and admitted that she sometimes feels ‘defeated.’

‘I start thinking I’m going to have to settle for someone shorter than me or someone my height because of how many times I get let down,’ she said.

Growing up, Saranya said she was insecure about her height due to nasty comments that she would get from her peers in school.

‘I hated my height because as a female I stood out like a sore thumb,’ she recalled of her childhood.

‘I actually started to hunch myself, because it made me insecure that my height drew so much attention and my partners didn’t like it.

‘I have also gotten hate [online], but a majority to maybe all of the negativity is from men.

‘They call me a liar, they say that I am a hypocrite, they say I should stay single.’

But now, she has learned to embrace her size.

‘It bothered me at first, but now I am not phased by it at all. The positives really do outweigh the negatives,’ she concluded.

‘Now, I love my height. I love every inch of it – in heels and without heels.’

One user said: ‘I’m 5ft10. Every guy I’ve dated thought they were six-foot and they were always shorter than me. Total boy math. Humbled pretty quickly standing side by side.’

Another user commented: ‘Same. I’m 5ft10 and my sister is 6ft4 and men are personally and thoroughly offended by our existence.’

‘It’s not the height. I don’t care. It’s the LYING about it, shows bad character,’ someone else said.

‘Me being 5ft9 looking down at the “six-foot tall” guy lol,’ read a fourth reply.

A different user added: ‘I’m six-foot even. I used to tell guys I was 5ft10 so that I could see their little hearts break when I tower over them.’
