And on Monday, Baz Luhrmann stuck close to wife Catherine Martin as they walked the red carpet together at the 2024 Met Gala in New York.

The dress code for this year’s event is The Garden of Time, which pairs with the new exhibition that it is being held to honor: Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Baz certainly dressed the part in a pine green suit which featured floral embroidery on the blazer.

The Australian director, 61, looked years younger than his age as he flaunted his smooth and tanned visage.

His skin was glowing and radiant, while his enviable hair was perfectly styled.

Catherine matched her man in a floor-length green gown that also featured floral embroidery and silver embellishments.

The Australian fashion designer, 59, rocked bold red lipstick and accessorized with thick black-rimmed spectacles.

Baz was recently forced to put split rumors to rest after fans noted eerie similarities with Aussie actor Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’ failed marriage.

The director confirmed the pair were still very much in love.

Baz and Catherine have been married for 27 years and just saw their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of home.

They recently listed their Gilded Age townhouse in New York for $28million as they downsize to their ’empty nester’ home in Australia.

The couple purchased the 790sqm home back in 2017 for $21million.

‘Since the pandemic and making the movie Elvis in Australia, our work has kept us mostly away from our New York City base,’ Baz told New York Post’s Gimme Shelter.

‘We shot Elvis entirely on the Gold Coast in Queensland and will continue to develop shows to be shot there.’

Baz’s former assistant lifted the lid on what it’s really like to work for Australia’s biggest film director in an interview in 2022.

Media personality Matty Mills began working for Luhrmann as his executive assistant in 2020, while he was directing his latest movie Elvis in Queensland.

While the gig had plenty of perks – including the chance to rub shoulders with movie stars – it’s an experience Matty hopes never to repeat.

‘That job, to me, was so tough. It was so grueling, so tough, yet as rewarding,’ he explained on the Not so PG podcast.

‘It was never a dream of mine to be someone’s executive assistant, but the amount of respect… that I have for people who do that sort of job… is just a lot.’

Of his demanding schedule, Matty said: ‘I was the first up in our team and I was the last to go to bed. I was the person to wake Baz up in the morning and the person to say goodnight to him in the evening.’
