The post comes just weeks after the proud mother posted a series of adorable snaps of her youngest son on Instagram that offered fans an insight into family life.
In the snaps, little Ernest appeared to be a Chelsea fan, as he was wearing a mini jersey with ‘Ernie’ and the number 9 on the back in one sweet photo.
In another heartwarming photo, Ernest’s older brother August, three, snuggled up to his younger sibling while giving him a kiss on the head.
Accompanying the photos, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter wrote: ‘One year of you my dear Ernest. Happy birthday!! We all love you so much, especially your enormous smile you give the world.. but you always save an extra special one for Mumma. Xxx’
Elsewhere, another photo of Ernest, who has a mop of brown hair, showed him putting his hand up to his mouth while sitting on the grass wearing his Chelsea jersey.
The photo suggests Ernest’s nickname in family life is Ernie, as this was imprinted on the number 9 jersey – which incidentally, is believed to be a ‘cursed’ number owing to the streaks of bad form of players who donned the shirt.
However, royal fans may argue that Ernest is so adorable, he may have lifted the curse of the shirt all by himself.
Other photos shared by Eugenie include her youngest son taking part in an Easter egg hunt, showing the youngster as he sat among the daffodils, appearing to hold a cardboard, colourful egg in his hand.
Princess Eugenie recently shared adorable previously unseen snaps of her youngest son Ernest to mark his first birthday – and revealed him to be a Chelsea fan like his father
Another photo of Ernest showed him at what appeared to be a party, wearing a black hoody and a name tag
Meanwhile a further image, which appeared to be taken at the Natural History Museum, showed August, three snuggling up to his younger brother and giving him a kiss
In another snap, he is wearing a black hoody with a name tag on his back – which reads Ernest, this time. Ernest’s birthday snap marked the first time fans caught a glimpse of the royal baby since the new year, when Eugenie travelled to Jamaica with her youngest.
Snaps of the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and her financier husband Jack, 37, posing with friends – and their two young sons – on a beautiful Caribbean beach were posted on Instagram by the couple’s friend Brendan Fallis, husband of US influencer Hannah Bronfman.
Ernest was pictured sitting on his father’s lap who is raising a hand to wave at the camera, and doting mum Eugenie, 33, is seemingly distracted by her baby son. Meanwhile August independently stood with his friends further back in the shot, wearing a green t-shirt.
Eugenie and Jack have been married for five years and were wed at St George’s Chapel, Windsor on October 12, 2018. Their first child, August, was born on February 9 2021, with little brother Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank following in May last year.
The couple took to Instagram to announce the birth of Ernest on May 30 2023. He was born at the private Portland Hospital in London like his brother – and his mother before him. Ernest is 13th in line to the throne, and pushed Prince Edward into 14th place.
