A historic home boasting a front row seat of one of the year’s major golfing tournaments is up for grabs for £1.5 million.
Located in the centre of Royal Troon Golf course, the four bedroom coastal home is a golf lovers dream as the property overlooks five of holes the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will play this week.
Future owners could watch 2nd, 3rd, 16th, 17th and 18th holes simply by walking from room to room.
However the home existed long before the famed gold club having been built 250 years ago.
It wasn’t until 1878 when Royal Troon Golf Club was founded and even then it had just six holes, which ran around the property.

The famous links course on the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire now has 45 holes and has been on the rota for The Open for 101 years.
In the coming week, the course will be hosting the major sporting event for the tenth time with 250,000 spectators expected to stroll past the house.
The iconic coastal home can often be spotted in the background of pictures from the world-renowned tournament.
Blackrock House, which has four bedrooms, four reception rooms and two bathrooms, has been split in two with the couple of one half now selling up after 30 years.
The other two residents – Paul and Cath Gregory – are staying put in their side of the property and often invite family and friends to watch the golf from their house.
Annabel Blackett, from estate agents Strutt & Parker, said: ‘The sale of Blackrock House is one of those rare times where you can safely say there isn’t anything else like this available in the world.
‘Built before the Royal Troon Golf Club even existed, the home’s driveway meanders through the course and takes you into almost another world – a world which must surely feel like a dream for any golf fans.
‘From here, you can watch five holes from the comfort of your own home, and of course you also have the club on your doorstep for your own playing.
‘While the views are fantastic year-round – and particularly with the coastal waters in the distance – the position really comes into its own when a championship as prestigious as The Open is in town.

The house – which has been split in two – is currently up for grabs for £1.5 million
The likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods alongside 250,000 are likely to pass by the stunning home
‘This week, The Open is being hosted at Royal Troon for the 10th time, which means you can watch the likes of Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson tee off from various rooms in the house – certainly not a claim you could make anywhere else in the world!
‘Now split into two homes, our clients have owned Blackrock House for 30 years, so this sale presents a rare opportunity for someone to own a slice of one of the most famous links courses in the country.’

The ultimate get-away-from-it-all cottage hidden on a tiny island
This comes after another unique property tucked away on a miniscule island – and only accessible by bridge was up for grabs for £300,000.
Located on the River Severn in Worcester, the stunning grade II-listed property boasts a very unique location.
Situated on Diglis Island, the three-bedroom ex-lock keeper’s house comes with a catch.
Constructed in 1844, the property is only reachable via two bridges, meaning any prospective owners won’t be able to park outside.
For its lack of car parking, it more than makes up for with direct access to the River Severn and the 220 miles of canals stretching through the south west.
Described as a ‘unique slice of history’ by estate agents Nicol & Co, the whitewashed cottage has a cosy living room to match with its spectacular views of the river.
As well as a reception, a hallway and a well-appointed kitchen-diner on the ground floor, with the kitchen leading out to the river-backed garden.
Sales manager Dan Westwood said: ‘Diglis Island is little known heritage gem in the middle of Worcester, a stone’s throw from the iconic cathedral.
‘This Grade II-listed cottage is nestled away on this picturesque island and offers a unique slice of history coupled with modern comforts.
