This is the moment an angry passerby confronts Just Stop Oil activists as they held up traffic during another slow march in London today.

The eco-mob said that 100 of its members started marching at 8:30am today on Hendon Way, north London, which is one of the capital’s busiest roads, in what is the third week of its relentless campaign against motorists.

Metropolitan Police officers arrived on the scene ‘immediately’ and have made more than 110 arrests. Pictures show a huge police presence at the scene, with officers ‘removed from their communities’ in order to deal with the chaos.

The force said earlier on X: ‘We are continuing to make arrests and send additional resources to Hendon Way. That is more officers removed from their communities to arrest Just Stop Oil activists. We estimate that more than 60 have been made. This number could rise to around 100.’

Footage from the scene shows one angry member of the public confronting the group, sarcastically telling activists ‘this is definitely going to work’ and pointing out that ‘all your clothes are made out of oil’.

The man then calls the group a ‘joke’ for ‘wasting everybody’s time and petrol’ as several motorists can be heard blaring their horns in frustration over the disruption caused by the eco-zealots.

The Met said on X, at 10:45am, that all of today’s Just Stop Oil marchers had been detained, with more than 100 activists arrested.

Video footage of today’s slow march shows the moment that dozens of activists stormed on to the busy London road, blocking cars from getting past.

They quickly begin donning their conventional orange high-vis jackets and unfurling banners with the words ‘Just Stop Oil’.

One passerby then says: ‘Well done, this is going to work guys. This is definitely going to work. Brilliant.

‘What a brilliant idea. What do you mean just stop oil? All your stuff is made out of oil you idiots. Your clothes, these jackets they are all made out of oil. What the hell are you doing here making a nuisance out of yourselves?’

‘It’s a joke, what a joke. What are you doing here? get off the roads you’re wasting everbody’s time and petrol. All these, guys their engines are running all the time wasting more b****y oil you nutters.

He continues: ‘What is this made of? What are your clothes made out of? How did your clothes get here?

‘They got here by oil. What are you doing? This makes no sense at all “Just Stop Oil”. You haven’t thought about this.

‘If you want to stop oil you need to stay at home and go and live in a forest.

‘What are you doing? Why are you doing this? How is this going to help anybody other than you getting out all your frsutrations?’

Just Stop Oil said in a statement about today’s march that seven vans of police officers had arrived on the scene and began arresting activists for ‘allegedly breaching Section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023’.

The eco-mob added that the Met ‘didn’t have enough officers to detain all of the Just Stop Oil supporters’, meaning at least 70 of its members continued marching.

It is unclear how many Just Stop Oil activists have so far been arrested but the Met said in its most recent update that all of today’s Just Stop Oil marchers had been detained, with more than 100 activists arrested.

The force said on X: ‘All your activists who were slow marching in the road today have been arrested. Your activists showed no inclination to leave the road, the only way they are is in the back of a police van.

‘More than 110 activists have been arrested. Londoners continue to face the brunt and cost of this.’

Police had put a road block in place to stop the activists marching, while traffic on Hendon Way was diverted on to a slip road to ‘minimise disruption’.

The Met added: ‘The activists disruption could mean people in the trade cancel appointments, others can’t make doctors appointments or children miss time in the classroom.’

Just Stop Oil said in a statement: ‘We are not prepared to watch while the government plans for millions to die and destroys everything we love. It’s up to all of us now to come together and resist. We cannot let them divide us.

‘Together we can be the real opposition this country needs and we will win. We will stop new oil and gas.

‘From 20th November, Just Stop Oil is calling on everyone to join us every day at midday in Trafalgar Square to march in London until the government comes to its senses and ends new oil and gas.’

Since October 30 police have arrested over 300 activists, with 132 Just Stop Oil members charged, and three remanded to prison.

The latest protest comes after the force said it arrested 25 Just Stop Oil activists yesterday for disruption to a main carriageway after the eco-mob staged a slow march on Holloway Road in north London.

Activists were yesterday seen marching on Holloway Road in north London on Sunday as thousands of people gathered in the capital to pay tribute to the nation’s fallen soldiers.

The group said 40 of its members, who were wearing red and white remembrance poppies, took part in the march as they blocked traffic on the busy dual carriageway near Finsbury Park.

Police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the march started at 4pm and began shoving activists out of the road, according to the group. The Met said that 25 arrests were made for disruption to the main carriageway.

Footage from the scene shows one frustrated commuter on an electric scooter ploughing into one of the signs being carried by the group before furiously discarding it to the side of the road and driving off.

Another video shows a furious van driver attempt to get past the eco-zealots as they stood in the middle of the road at a set of traffic lights, while other enraged motorists honked their horns in frustration.
