Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen joked that ‘social services’ would be coming after her as her children opened up on the bedroom arrangements in their new home.
The mother-of-nine took to ITV’s This Morning on Monday to open up about transforming the formerly dilapidated farmhouse in Ravenseat, Swaledale.
The renovations made by Amanda, 51, have been filmed as part of her Channel 4 series, Our Farm Next Door, which returns for a new series tonight.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess has had to make space for her large brood, from youngest daughter Nancy, nine, to eldest child Raven, 24.
It’s meant that the family have had to get creative when it comes to designing the bedrooms – with one even fitting inside a CUPBOARD.
Amanda told Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: ‘It was a derelict house, we bought it during the Covid lockdown and it’s a renovation project.

‘Everything that goes against it, it’s in a national park, it’s a listed building, so there are certain parameters that within we can work so it’s a vert slow job.
‘But the whole idea to put that house back to how it would have been, keeping the integrity and heritage of it alive, and also making it something that is liveable and workable.
‘Now, nothing too contrived, but it is a slow project, a very slow project, and [my children] are all involved in it – talk about keeping them busy.’
Daughter Clementine then explained: ‘We’re helping design our cupboard bed’, as talk soon turned to the renovations happening to make space for the family.
Ben, 51, asked: ‘Who is going to have the cupboard bed?’ to which Amanda’s youngest daughter, Nancy, responded: ‘Me! I want the most strange bed.’
‘It’ll be the strangest place to be,’ Amanda continued, as her daughter once again chimed in: ‘I mean, who wouldn’t want to sleep in a cupboard?’
Amanda joked towards Ben and Cat, 49: ‘Um, social services!’ before moving on to praise her children for helping ‘paint walls’ and ‘tidying up’.
It comes after Amanda revealed she didn’t even bother calling for an ambulance when going into labour with her eighth child – as she ‘could not be a***d’.

Amanda Owen defiantly hits back at critics after being branded a ‘pretend farmer’

Instead, the Yorkshire Shepherdess gave birth at home surrounded by cushions.
She said daughter Clemmy was born on the floor of her farmhouse after she failed to go to the hospital – a 69-mile journey from the family’s Yorkshire Dales home.
Speaking on the White Wine Question Time podcast, she said: ‘A few cushions and a rug and a terrier over there under the settle. Best birth partner ever. I put my hand down, when I felt there was a head coming, I knew it was all systems go.’
She admitted that repeated attempts to reach the hospital during earlier labours had become increasingly pointless.
‘I was frequenting all the lay-bys of the North East,’ she added. ‘The hospital would get further and further away. It is literally the fact that I could not be arsed.
‘I could not be bothered to set off the whole thing of ring the labour ward, ring for an ambulance, paramedics turn up. I just wanted to go back to bed.’
Amanda and Clive Owen, 70, went their separate ways in June 2022 after becoming household names on Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm.
They also still co-parent and work the farm together, although they no longer share the same home, with the children shuttling between them as they choose.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX, and Our Farm Next Door returns tonight (Monday) on More4.
