An American man living in the UK has left Britons in hysterics after discovering a popular budget supermarket for the first time.

Adonis, originally from New York but currently in London, took to TikTok to showcase his first ever trip to Iceland Foods in December.

The content creator regularly delves into the cultural and social differences between Britain and America, through both street interviews with Brits and sharing his own experiences online.

In a recent video posted to his account, @adoniscrashboom, he was visibly left stunned after stumbling across low prices, ‘Mix & Match’ offers and multibuy deals while visiting his local Iceland store.

The influencer also gushed over the retailer’s extensive range of collaborations with popular eateries, such as Greggs and TGI Fridays, while perusing the aisles.

In the clip, Adonis looks intently at each aisle as his eyes sparkle with glee.

As he walks around the store, he notes: ‘I’m assuming everything at Iceland is – the best thing that they do – is frozen food. Let’s see what they’ve got.’

Projecting his camera toward a freezer, he lifts the lid to reveal a range of frozen Sides meals, which were created in partnership with YouTube group, the Sidemen.

Next, Adonis stumbles across a TGI Fridays range, as well as Iceland’s own Beef Wellington – before making a beeline for a favourite of his: Greggs.

Adonis appears dumbfounded as he glosses over frozen Steak Bakes and Cheese and Bean Melts, before picking up an eight-pack of Sausage Rolls for the cool price of £5.25.

The content creator is left to give his culinary choices a second thought after picking up a multipack of Iceland’s own-brand Mini Deep Dish Garlic & Cheese Pizzas – which had been part of a ‘Buy 2 Get 1 Free’ offer.

However, another offer soon catches his eye, causing him to drop the pizzas as he scrambles for a much more worthy upgrade.

Turning his camera back to the freezer, Adonis zooms in on Iceland’s ‘Any 8 for £10’ deal – before stocking up on a staggering eight two-packs of Chicago Town Deep Dish Pepperoni and Four Cheese pizzas.

Taking his goods to the self-service checkout, Adonis is astonished to discover his total bill barely exceeds £15 for eight Greggs sausage rolls and a whopping sixteen mini deep dish pizzas.

In a later clip, he tucks into his feast of frozen goods after taking them home to cook, declaring: ‘It’s sensational!’

Adonis’ heartwarming trip to Iceland has since prompted over 1000 viewers to share their thoughts, with many Brits left touched by his newfound excitement over the budget chain’s offerings.

One person wrote, ‘I’m actually really happy for you,’ while another said, ‘I’ve never seen someone so happy to go to Iceland before.’

A third gushed, ‘This is such a sweet post,’ as a fourth wrote, ‘Seeing someone be so happy to be in Iceland warms my soul.’

The video even caught the attention of the budget supermarket itself, as Iceland’s official account commented: ‘The most wholesome video ever.’

Some were left inspired by the American’s enthusiasm for the brand, as one person wrote: ‘This man telling me deals I didn’t even know about.. guess I’m going shopping tomorrow.’

Agreeing, another said: ‘You are actually making Iceland sound greater than it is I’m going tomorrow.’

In regards to the deals Adonis showcased in the video, one person wrote: ’16 mini pizzas for £10 is actually insane value.’

However, one viewer issued a tip for the New York native, as they commented: ‘You do know that any 8, means any 8 items not the same item, right? (as long as its within the same price offer).’

Elsewhere, another American man living in the UK has shared his shock at five stark differences between grocery shopping in Britain and back home.

Kobie Jordan, a TikTok content creator known as @kjordyyy, often explores cultural contrasts between the two countries, both through street interviews with Brits and sharing his own experiences online.

In a video uploaded in August, titled ‘Grocery shopping in London as an American,’ Jordan shared his observations whilst shopping for necessities in his local Sainsbury’s supermarket.
