The Duchess of Edinburgh was effortlessly elegant as she made an appearance at a chic gala for the Dispensaire Français – a non-profit which provides medical and social assistance and support to French and French-speaking people in the UK.
Sophie, 58, dazzled in the deep navy blue gown embroidered with glittering black detailing during tonight’s event at The French Residence in London.
The mother-of-two – who has been the organisation’s patron since 2022 – teamed her evening ensemble, which featured a flowing A-line skirt, with stiletto heels and a matching clutch.
She gathered her blonde tresses back in a relaxed updo, and opted for smoke eye make-up.
Before Sophie, the late Queen Elizabeth II was the Dispensaire’s patron. Posting about the event on its X profile, the French Embassy wrote: ‘We are delighted to welcome the Duchess of Edinburgh as the French Residence hosts the Dispensaire Français’ biennial gala tonight.

‘This non-profit organization provides services for more than 2,000 French and other French-speaking beneficiaries each year.’
It’s been a busy start to the week for the royal, who earlier today looked to be in high-spirits during a visit to the Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) in London.
Sophie enjoyed an activity-filled day at the charity, based in Battersea, which has been tackling poverty and isolation for 100 years.
The wife of Prince Edward was all smiles as she took part in a seated dance with others, grouped around in a circle and waving some bright blue pom-poms.
Elsewhere, she was focused while trying her hand at a sewing machine when taking part in a workshop at the centre.
The mother-of-two was effortlessly chic and sophisticated in a white wool ensemble and bright green jacket for today’s engagement.
Sophie showed off her winter fashion in the warm maxi-dress, which featured a turtleneck, adding a pop of colour with an emerald belted coat.
She carried a brown leather clutch and finished the look off with simple suede boots.

The Duchess styled her blonde tresses in a relaxed style and opted for minimal make-up for the visit.
KLS was opened by the late Queen Mother, when she was the Duchess of York, in 1924.
In 1964, she marked the charity’s 40th anniversary with a visit. The Settlement’s programmes work to support people from all ages as well as families from refugee backgrounds and adults who have just arrived in the UK and are learning English.
According to its website, more than 500 people a week visit the building.
Last month, the Duchess proved to be a hit with children and adults alike as she volunteered at a Christmas party for Ukrainian refugees.
Sophie cut a casual figure in a black polo neck jumper as she chatted to families, served festive food and painted children’s faces at The Lighthouse in Woking, Surrey.

The royal paired her laid back ensemble with black trousers and added a gold chain.
The event included music from the Ukrainian band Atmasfera, a visit from Sviatyij Mykolai (Saint Nicholas), and a Ukrainian puppeteer.
The charity, of which the Duchess became patron earlier last year, hosts a range of projects in central Woking and Barnsbury to support, encourage and empower those who find themselves in need.
The charity, which also runs Woking Foodbank and the Jigsaw baby bank, was supporting around 4,000 local people who will have found Christmas tough this year.

Its Christmas Kindness appeal included food hampers, toy vouchers for children, winter warming items, clothing, toiletries, a meal on Christmas Day and more.
It’s not the first time that Sophie has visited the charity as she baked mince pies and packed Christmas care packages for the Woking charity in 2021.
The royal got stuck in during the visit, serving breakfast to beneficiaries of the charity and helping to pack essential items for children in need over the festive season.
She was seen baking festive treats, heating up croissants and serving spiced apple juice in the Lighthouse kitchen before chatting to locals during the visit.
She later helped pack care packages for children, all of whom have been referred to us by local support workers and service providers, containing items like shower gel and toys.
The Lighthouse is a charity seeking to tackle widespread poverty and undergo a variety of projects for the local community, including offering free haircuts for men and advice for those suffering with debt.
