Appalling footage shows the moment an enraged man shot and injured his partner’s son during an argument – before a dramatic standoff with cops.

Kyle W Spitze, 24, was wounded but survived and escaped, while gunman Jeffrey Scott West, 68, barricaded himself in the Tennessee home when SWAT turned up.

Officers can be seen trying to negotiate with him while he waves around the firearm – but he’s later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot when cops send in a K-9.

The new footage is filmed from Spitze’s perspective, and shows him taking the bullet to the ear before frantically fleeing and waiting for officers outside.

‘I’m getting ready to blow his godd*mn brains out! Right f**kin’ now!’ the clips begins, with west shouting the threat as Spitze sits filming from his bed.

‘Blow my brains out? Shoot me and I guarantee you’ll go to jail for life,’ the eventual victim replies, recording the older man as he stands in the doorframe.

Spitze’s mother, Melanie, is seen struggling to deescalate the situation, standing between the two men.

West, meanwhile, continues to wave and point the gun, aiming it at Spitze several times as he continues to film the clip in first-person.

The mom is then seen shutting the door, as Spitze continues to film.

Through the shut door, her love interest shouts, ‘I’m tired of his sh*t!’ – after which Spitze stands up and opens the door, resuming the conflict.

‘You gonna blow my mom’s brain out?’ he yells, as the argument spills out into a hallway on Quarry Hollow Road.

Spitze, meanwhile, continues to film, as his 60-year-old mom tries to keep the men apart. West, still irate, proceeds to point the weapon at Spitze several more times.

‘Point that gun at me again,’ Spitze says at this point, seemingly under the pretense that West was of sound enough mind to not actually pull the trigger.

That presumption, however, ultimately proved incorrect – evidenced by the loud ‘pop’ that ensued and the unmistakable flash of gunfire.

Still filming, Spitze steps back, and proceeds to survey the room in silence.

A period of eerie quiet follows, during which Spitze seems to be still assessing what has just happened.

His mom then gasps – as several droplets of blood fall to the wooden floor.

‘Oh my god! You’re going to jail,’ she goes on to shout, as West walks away – and Spitze begins to realize what’s happened.

A rush of panic quickly ensues, during which the victim is seen frantically rushing to the residence’s backdoor.

He quickly makes it, and begins to look in the door’s reflective glass to see the damage.

The clip ends there, but statements from The Blount County Sheriff’s Office tell the rest of the story.

They revealed how after the gun went off, Spitze and his mother soon reconvened outside.

The pair then proceeded to phone 911 – causing deputies to descend on the scene around 8:15pm.

Upon arrival, officers found Spitze and his mother waiting outside, and immediately rendered first air to the victim.

Once stabilized, he told officers that he and West had been arguing in the home, and that the gun-toting suspect was still inside.

Sheriff’s Crisis Negotiations and SWAT agents eventually arrived at the scene, and began attempting to negotiate with West with the goal of making him to surrender.

Those efforts, however, failed after roughly two-and-a-half hours, and deputies eventually sent in a single K-9 just before 11pm, cops said in a statement.

Once inside, the animal was able to convey to officers that West was dead, after which investigators went inside to find the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers would later confirm that West had killed himself, and that Spitze had  sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right ear.

His condition, as of Tuesday, remains unknown, but his newly surfaced footage of the encounter continues to circulate.

No officers were hurt. DailyMail.com has reached out to both Spitze and The Blount County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
