  • The tragic council worker’s parents have slammed her ex for his behaviour

The boyfriend of murdered council worker Ashley Dale has posted sick ‘tributes’ two years on from her being shot dead.

Ms Dale, 28, was killed at her home in Old Swan in Liverpool by James Witham – then her boyfriend Lee Harrison refused to co-operate with police, a court heard.

Witham, then aged, 41, was jailed on November 22 last year along with Sean Zeisz, 28, 26-year-old Niall Barry and Joseph Peers, 29, for Ashley’s murder.

The four were also found guilty of conspiring to kill Lee Harrison and conspiring to posses a Skorpion submachine gun with ammunition with intent to endanger life.

Now Mr Harrison, who was the intended target of the shooting which took Ashley’s life, has shared pictures of her on social media – as her parents condemned his ‘despicable’ behaviour.

Ashley’s death came just one day before Olivia Pratt-Korbel, nine, was also killed at her home in Dovecot, Liverpool, by Thomas Cashman.

Harrison has now posted photos of Ashley including one at the Glastonbury Festival, where he had clashed with gang rival Niall Barry ahead of the murder, the Sun reported.

An Instagram account in his name includes the bio words ‘Ashley my world forever’, along with a profile photo of the pair taking a selfie.

His online posts come as a new documentary broadcast last month looked into how Merseyside Police solved the cases and brought Witham and Cashman to justice.

The background to her murder was a feud between Barry and her boyfriend Mr Harrison.

Three years before the shooting, Mr Harrison had sided against Barry in a dispute over drugs which resulted in a bitter disagreement.

The pair met each other at Glastonbury festival where they argued with Mr Harrison, allegedly, saying he would stab Barry.

During the police investigation, Mr Harrison did not aid officers and spent much of his time abroad.

‘We’ve had no remorse from him. We’ve had no support from him. We have no admittance that it’s anything to do with him.

‘He’s given us any number of reasons of what he’s heard it’s to do with and none of them include him and he still carries on – you know, going about his life, leaving the country, going on holidays, lording it up, shall we say, like nothing’s happened and nothing’s changed for him and it’s absolutely disgusting, it really is.’

Ashley was at her home in the Old Swan area of Liverpool Witham opened fire with a Skorpion sub-machine on August 21, 2022.

Ten bullets were fired, with one hitting Ashley in the abdomen and five into a wall of an upstairs bedroom.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the shooting began after Witham forced his way into the house through the front door.

Before the attack, her car tyres were slashed by Peers and Witham in an attempt to cause a distraction.

In a previous interview, Ashley’s mother Julie remarked: ‘The difficult thing is, most of the defendants, pretty much all of them, knew Ashley and have known her on a friendly basis.

‘Never mind to do what they did, but then to get up and lie about it and talk about her.’

In 2015 Ms Dale’s own brother Lewis was shot dead as he walked down a canal towpath in Vauxhall, north Liverpool.

The 16-year-old was shot in the back in a case of mistaken identity.
