An extreme cleaner has transformed a flat that was ‘riddled with flies, maggots, mouldy food’ and even faeces into a pristine paradise.

Bea Elton, who goes by ‘cleanwithbea’ on TikTok, where she has 1.7 million followers, shocked fans when she revealed that the flat filled with ‘mountains of dirty clothes and rubbish’ belonged to a mother, her six-year-old daughter and their kitten.

Described as a ‘literal saint’ by one awestruck social media user, Bea, 27, who is originally from Leicester, offers free deep cleans to those most in need.

In two clips, both of which drew thousands of comments expressing concern for the little girl’s welfare, Bea is seen cleaning the living room, bathroom, kitchen and bedroom with the help of her boyfriend. Both are dressed in hazmat suits with face coverings.

There was a blackened banana skin crawling with maggots on one surface, while the bedroom shared by the mother and little girl was strewn with old takeaway packaging, drinks cans, dirty clothes and children’s toys.

‘There was food, drinks, kaka [faeces] all about the flat – on the walls, on the rugs, on the floor, on the furniture,’ Bea explained.

Since the whole property was infested with flies, Bea’s first task was ‘to get rid of anything that could sustain them’ – from leftovers to spilled drinks.

While she acknowledged that she found this particular clean ‘really upsetting,’ Bea admitted that after four days of ‘disinfecting’, ‘polishing’ and ‘scrubbing’, she was ‘proud’ of the sparkling home.

At the beginning of the first video, which has been viewed 14.6 million times, Bea said: ‘When I arrived to deep clean it I found rotten food on every surface, mountains of dirty clothes and rubbish and flies and maggots everywhere.

‘I was told that the mother had been struggling with her mental health but thankfully she’s now getting the help she needs.’

Bea, who is invariably upbeat and sometimes breaks into rap and song, allowed herself a moment of reflection while cleaning the mother and daughter’s filthy home.

‘This clean was emotionally draining. I did find it really upsetting to know a little girl was living like this,’ she said.

While the family had told Bea they had been quoted ‘thousands of pounds’ for a professional cleaner, she offered it to them for free.

Explaining the precautions she takes when dealing with spaces that are not only untidy but actually dirty, Bea said: ‘Sponges, cloths, gloves, you name it, everything was changed regularly to avoid cross contamination.’

She was also able to reassure fans that she never throws away other people’s items unless she receives permission to do so.

Bea did admit, however, that the ‘exception to that rule is if the item is too heavily contaminated that it is not safe to keep in the space.

‘And, sadly, we had to do quite a lot of that when we had to clean the bedroom.’

The results were nothing short of astonishing, with the rooms of the flat left looking unrecognisable – spacious, spotless and inviting.

Bea shared that the ‘sweet’ little girl had given her a tiara and a lollipop to say thank you.

A number of Bea’s fans pondered what might have caused the flat to fall into such disarray.

Responding to what Bea had said about the mother struggling with her mental health, one person wrote: ‘You can tell she once was in a good headspace. She had nice furniture and belongings. Just in a bad place. Thank you for helping her’.

Many more, however, expressed concerns for the little girl’s welfare.

One person said: ‘Was social services ever involved at all? That little girl deserves so much better’.

Another stated: ‘As a person that’s been the kid in this scenario, thank you. She deserves so much more care than she’s receiving.’

A third was not confident that the clean would have a lasting impact, writing: ‘I grew up in a house like this. And my parents’ house is still like this and I’m 32. It will be back to this way in a month at best unless the mum truly gets help. I saw all this from experience.’

Bea responded to these concerns at the beginning of the second video, where she also revealed the full transformation.

She said: ‘There was a whole debate in the comments section of my last video mainly from people deeply concerned for the child’s safety.

‘Now out of respect for the family, I’m not going to be discussing details because I don’t think that’s fair.

‘I want to reassure everyone that the child and her kitten are safe, and the people who need to know about this are already aware and they are helping.’

Bea’s followers appeared hugely appreciative of her efforts, noting that she goes above and beyond on behalf of people she’s never even met before.

One person wrote: ‘I’ve seen so many videos of free cleaning. You’re the only one that actually cleans everything like you would clean your own home. You’re [an] amazing person’.

Another enthused: ‘Literal saint’.
