A disappointed Australian foodie has slammed Wagamama for being ‘expensive’ and said the dishes had ‘no flavour’.
Calvin Chang, who is originally from Australia but now living in London, decided to dine at the Asian-inspired restaurant with his friend.
The content creator said he was ‘excited’ to try Wagamama because of the amount of influencers who have raved about it.
He filmed himself tucking into a colourful noodle dish and looked rather unimpressed on his first bite.
Calvin said: ‘I’ve seen so many people rave about it, we’re genuinely confused. Where’s the flavour?

‘I literally had to douse mine in soy sauce just to make it edible. I know you’re like “Oh you’re just getting what you paid for” but no it was not cheap.’
Calvin then captioned the video: ‘PS I know we didn’t get scammed… we just didn’t expect the prices for the quality of the meal.’
The clip racked up almost 77,000 likes as many users commented that they’d had similar experiences.
One wrote: ‘What I thought most UK people (at least in London) know Wagamama sucks, who is lying to you?’
Another penned: ‘I can’t stand Wagamama, terrible food, no flavour at all. Plus the price was laughable, that price for food was stupid.’
A third said: ‘I went once. Never again.’ A fourth commented: ‘I know, it’s terrible, I don’t like it too.’
Wagamama used to have restaurants in Australia prior to 2014, when the franchisee, Edible Concept Holdings Ptd Ltd, went into liquidation.

Around 200 employees lost their jobs as a result of the closure after the franchise first launched in Australia in 2005.
The franchisee partner Wagamama stores were not operated by the same UK-based Wagamama Group, but the two companies were thought to have worked closely together.
Wagamama has been contacted for comment.
