The Baftas this year had all the promise of glitz, glamour and glowing outfits from A-listers who are used to having cameras pointed at them all year round.
Household names gathered at the Royal Festival Hall in central London yesterday evening for a night filled with celebration and joy.
And while some stars such as Hannah Waddingham and Alex Scott brought their A-game to the event, others attempts at red carpet glamour fell somewhat flat.
Among some of the more baffling looks include Lesley Manville, who showed up to the event dressed in a red satin dress with a square bodice.
The 68-year-old put a large needle through the cushion-like detailing, which looked as though a wardrobe malfunction had taken place.
Actress Lesley Manville, 68, donned a scarlet gown with a square neckline that was reminiscent of a needle through a cushion yesterday
Comedian Matt Richardson made a fashion faux pas when he rocked up to the event wearing no socks with his highly-polished loafers
Lashana Lynch donned a grey square-neckline frock with silver detailing around the asymmetrical hem.
The wardrobe choice was nothing short of peculiar as the detailing on each side of the dress was reminiscent of curtains.
Annabel Scholey, 40, opted for a strapless monochrome gown that had graffiti-style letters printed on it.
She paired the ensemble with a coral clutch bag, gold jewellery and shiny black heels in an outfit that looked straight out of 2010.
Comedian Matt Richardson, 32, rocked up in a mismatched suit comprised of a blush-coloured velvet blazer with a white shirt, black tie and slim smart trousers.
But he opted to wear no socks with his highly-polished onyx-coloured loafers which left the outfit looking rather odd.
