Bargain Hunt star Charles Hanson arrived at court today to face charges of assault and coercive behaviour against his wife.

The 45-year-old turned up at Derby Crown Court in the rain this morning, holding an umbrella, as he faced charges after police were called to reports of a domestic incident at his £1.5million home in the Derbyshire village of Quarndon in June 2023.

Hanson, of Mackworth, Derby, made his first appearance at the same court on February 7, 2024, in front of Judge Shaun Smith KC, where he entered pleas of not guilty.

These related to charges of controlling or coercive behaviour between 2015 and 2023, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in May 2020, and two counts of assault by beating in 2022 and 2023.

The auctioneer previously denied the charges, which relate to his wife Rebecca, at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on January 10, 2024.
