The series serves follows up Band of Brothers (2001) and The Pacific (2010) and is based on the Donald L. Miller book of the same name and features Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman as executive producers.
The streaming series is an adaptation of Donald L. Miller’s 2007 nonfiction book Masters Of The Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the War Against Nazi Germany.
Filming for Masters Of The Air started in 2021 in England, but was delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The series also will feature Ncuti Gatwa, David Shields, Ben Radcliffe, Elliot Warren, Nate Mann, Edward Ashley, Rafferty Law, Darragh Cowley and German actor Louis Hofmann.
Masters Of The Air will have a two-episode premiere on January 26 on the Apple TV+ service.
According to the official synopsis, Masters of Air ‘follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the ‘Bloody Hundredth’) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air.
‘Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich is at the heart of Masters of Air.
‘Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.’

The world premiere saw the all-star cast hit the red carpet alongside the equally a-list executive producer Tom Hanks.
