A well-regarded TV producer has announced his own death from cancer aged just 62.

The news was shared via Guillermo ‘Memo’ del Bosque’s Instagram account in an emotional final message written by the deceased himself, and posted after he’d breathed his final breath.

‘I want to share that I have reached the end of my life,’ said the message, which was written in Spanish.

‘Cancer was a tremendous battle that I fought with everything I could, but God has decided that this disease will no longer harm me.

‘I thank God for allowing me to continue living since I was diagnosed in 2017, and for allowing me to enjoy my children, Vica, and my entire family,’ he continued.

‘I am thankful for my friends who never left. Thank you for all your love.’

Del Bosque was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2017 and underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant to treat the illness.

He revealed in 2020 that he had been cleared of cancer, but announced last month that he had fallen sick.

He was hospitalized at a clinic in Texas, where was receiving treatment until his condition worsened two weeks ago.

Del Bosque spent almost 30 years producing programming for Mexican network Televisa and was let go by the media giant in 2022 after his contract was not renewed.

He was also known for launching Telehit in 1993 – the music television network was an instant success for a young crowd.

Del Bosque’s death stunned the television industry, with his friends and contemporaries taking to social media express their condolences.

‘Dear Memo. I have no words to thank you for everything I learned from you during our time at Telehit,’ wrote television host, Odalys Ramírez. ‘Always pioneering, innovating, unafraid of what people might say. Listening to each of our proposals and ideas.’

Eduardo España recalled watching ‘El Calabozo,’ one of the many shows del Bosque produced, and how it played a large role in launching a career in television business.

‘You believed in me so much and gave me the opportunity to be your associate producer and generate six successful seasons of ‘Las pellizcadas de Márgara’ on Telehit,’ España wrote on X.

‘You fought cancer like a warrior, dear Memo. You leave behind a family that shared their great love for you, and you leave behind many project colleagues and friends who cherish wonderful memories by your side.’

‘It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Memo del Bosque. We admire his tireless struggle and courage in the face of adversity,’ Televisa CEO Emilio Azcarraga wrote on X.

‘Our deepest condolences to Vica and her children, Luca, Luna, and Coral. Memo, your fighting spirit will live on in us. RIP.’

Del Bosque leaves behind a wife, Vica Andrade, and the couple’s three children, Cora, Luca and Luna.
