Ben Affleck was in an awkward position as he became the third wheel alongside his childhood friend Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso over the weekend.

Ben, 52, sat in on a dinner date Matt, 54, had with his 48-year-old wife Luciana — whom he tied the knot with in 2005 — at Steak 48 in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

The Argo filmmaker leaned on his best friend just hours after he roasted Matt for his burly gray beard — which he has grown out for his upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey — when they appeared at Netflix’s Tudum event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

They were both at the event to present the first footage from their Netflix action film The Rip, and then enjoyed a late dinner in Beverly Hills.

Ben was spotted wearing a black T-shirt under a black leather jacket, with blue jeans and black boots for the dinner outing.

Ben may have been looking to spend time with his close friend and his wife as he tries to move on from his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

Damon grew out the gray beard to portray Odysseus in director Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated adaptation of Homer’s classic Greek epic.

Filming started in late February on the film, which also stars, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron, though it’s unclear if filming has yet to wrap.

When they took the stage, Affleck joked, ‘I trusted Matt would shave the beard before Tudum. And here we are.’

They introduced costars Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

‘The Rip came out of a deeply personal experience that my friend went through, both as a father and as head of tactical narcotics for the Miami Dade police department,’ Carnahan told Tudum last Saturday.

‘It’s inspired in part by his life and then, by my enduring love for those classic seventies cop thrillers that really valued the character and interpersonal relationships and became touchstones of that era — films like Serpico and Prince of the City and more recently, Michael Mann’s Heat.’

The Boston besties co-produced Bill Condon’s $30M-budget remake of West End musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Ben’s second ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, which hits US theaters October 10.

Matt is currently on break from filming Universal Pictures $250M-budget ‘mythic action epic’ already scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.

The Odyssey marks Damon’s third time being directed by Nolan after his 2023 atomic bomb biopic Oppenheimer, and his 2014 sci-fi epic Interstellar.

Principal photography officially began February 25 on the IMAX flick, and filming is also expected to take place in Italy, Greece, Morocco, Scotland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
