A woman who relocated from the UK to Spain has revealed the reasons why she’ll never move back to Blighty.

Georgia, who is in her twenties, moved to the Costa Del Sol more than five years ago and says her new life in Spain is so much better than the gloomy weather in the UK.

She now shows off her life in the sun on her TikTok account and makes videos sharing her advice to other potential expats.

The influencer, who is self-employed, says that when she goes back to her homeland she often gets a ‘reverse culture shock’.

Georgia told her TikTok page: ‘It isn’t just about the weather, it is the lifestyle in general.

‘I feel like I am a healthier person in Spain because of the food that I eat and the amount of time I spend outdoors.’

She noted that one of the key differences between Spain and the UK was the cost of living, adding that prices in England have skyrocketed.

‘I honestly don’t think I’d be able to afford to live in England again,’ she added.

‘I know prices have gone up everywhere but it’s so expensive now and having [the sun] on your doorstep for cheaper is a no brainer.’

House prices across Britain have surged by an average of £13,000 over the last 12 months, according to a new analysis by Purplebricks.

The online estate agent says homes in every region in the UK have appreciated on average – particularly in the north-west, where homes have risen in value by eight per cent.

Georgia has also fallen in love with the sociable culture in Spain and says she enjoys the wealth of activities the country has to offer.

She said: ‘It’s so normal to socialise during the week and not just wait for the weekends, which is something that I love about living here.

‘Whether it’s going for a drink, a coffee, or breakfast, there’s always stuff to do during the week and at the weekend.

‘You really don’t have to spend a lot of money. We usually spend our weekends having a walk around, seeing friends, going for a drink or having tapas.’

Georgia claims that the people in Spain are also much more friendly than in the UK.

She says Spanish nationals will often make an effort to chat with her in the mornings, whereas she was ignored in Britain.

‘In the mornings, people that you don’t even know will say good morning to you,’ Georgia said.

‘I think it’s just such a nice way to start the day. In England, that would be weird to do [but] it’s normal for strangers to speak to you and engage in conversations which is so nice.’
