Two burglars were scared away by a homeowner after being caught trying to break into his house by climbing on the roof.

The pair, dressed in black, were captured on a Ring security camera in North Harrow, London, scaling a wall into the back garden on December 6.

The masked men can be seen clambering onto the flat roof before one attempts to prise open a window and climb through.

As he does this, a car horn – possibly from a getaway driver – suddenly sounds just seconds before a light inside the house turns on.

Now caught in the act, the masked men start to scramble away as a man inside screams: ‘Oi, oi, oi. Get out. You b*****d.’

Another voice can then be heard saying ‘F*** you’ in the intense doorbell footage.

As the two burglars climb back down from the roof, the chilling 48-second CCTV video then comes to an end.

Locals reacted with shock at the attempted break in, with one person saying: ‘That’s why you don’t buy end of terrace, more risky.’

Nindy Matharu added: ‘Oh my God. This is so scary,’ while a third stated: ‘Oh no, I’m so worried. Nothing is safe in this world.’

Another said: ‘The way I would have screamed like that person. So scary someone being outside your windows and then coming in.’

A fifth also added: ‘Police have said a gang are going around. Let’s be careful coming up to Christmas.’
