The chance to become a homeowner for less than a cup of coffee might seem like a cracking deal.

But for those prepared to fork out as little as £1 for this detached three-bed bungalow near the Welsh coast, there is a major catch.

The bargain bungalow, which has just been listed with a guide price of £1, has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a spacious living room and a kitchen.

It also boasts a driveway with parking for up to three cars as well as a rear garden that includes a timber summerhouse.

However, potential buyers of the property in Merlin’s Bridge, near Haverfordwest, would need to be prepared to deal with worrying structural issues.

As one would-be buyer said: ‘It is outside where you really need to look. £1 for a house sounds a great bargain – but who knows what lies underneath.’

The dream price tag is because the house is full of massive cracks.

The estate agent taking the auction states that the home has ‘suffered structural damage due to adverse ground conditions and a comprehensive renovation or complete rebuilding is required.’

The property details go on to say that the serious structural issues are found at the front right-hand corner and within the front garden.

But says the bungalow offers potential and should be of particular interest to property developers and builders.

A spokesman said: ‘Due to the state of this section of the house the sale is being aimed at cash buyers as raising a standard mortgage on the property is unlikely as well as untimely.’

The auction commences on Monday, March 10, from noon and concludes on Wednesday, March 12, at noon with the final online bidder the winner.
