Reform candidates have branded King Charles a ‘climate cracker’, said the late Queen was an ‘OAP on state benefits’ and that they would prefer murderers Fred and Rose West to the Royal Family.

Social media posts from more than a dozen aspiring Reform MPs attacking the royals have been identified by the Mail.

The party has already dropped several candidates over offensive comments or past support for far-Right organisations, with leader Nigel Farage blaming a vetting company for failing to do background checks properly.

But this latest swathe of comments appears to reflect the party’s strained relationship with the monarchy, despite burnishing its ‘patriotic’ credentials.

Last month Mr Farage struggled with questions over branding the King an ‘eco-loony’ during a bruising election interview.

Reform's Orkney and Shetland candidate Robert Smith, referring to the Royal Family, once said he would 'prefer Fred and Rose [West] to any of these c****'

Reform’s Orkney and Shetland candidate Robert Smith, referring to the Royal Family, once said he would ‘prefer Fred and Rose [West] to any of these c****’.

Last year the candidate, who has previously run for UKIP in the area, said Charles was a ‘WEF fascist’ referring to the World Economic Forum.

It brings thinkers from around the globe each year to Davos, Switzerland, and has been the subject of conspiracy theories about a secret cabal running the world.

Mr Smith also suggested online that King Charles was ‘serving another master’.

Andrew Husband, running in North Durham, engaged in the conspiracy theories around the WEF, calling King Charles a ‘climate cracker’ and hinting at foul play in the death of Princess Diana.

Watford candidate Gary Ling also posted an offensive post about the King in 2022. He wrote: ‘Chump Charlie is back at it…if he becomes King, his bulls*** will ensure he will be the last.’

In Meriden and Solihull East, where Reform are expected to spoil the Tory vote and potentially let in Labour, Malcolm Sedgley criticised the late Queen in 2021 over her endorsement of Covid vaccines.

John Edwards, running in Southampton Test, said on social media: 'Our King is talking about reparations....Is Charles a problem or a well-intentioned do gooder?'

In 2019 he compared the Royal Family’s right to rule to ‘Nazis’ and accused them of thinking they had ‘superior genetics’. Two years before, when sharing an article about tax havens, he wrote of Elizabeth II: ‘An OAP on state benefits, heading an extended family with barely a job between them, manages to save a few quid and sneak it away for a rainy day. What’s wrong with that?’

Donald Brookes, who could leapfrog the Tories into second place in the new seat of Wolverhampton West, said last year: ‘This is not my King – we need now to get rid of the monarchy, it’s a joke.’

John Edwards, running in Southampton Test, shared similar vitriol. ‘Our King is talking about reparations….Is Charles a problem or a well-intentioned do gooder?’ he wrote on social media last year.

Hamish Haddow, running in Chipping Barnet, said of Prince William after he called for an end to fighting in the Israel-Hamas conflict: ‘This is a big mistake.

‘This looks very anti-semitic and anti- British. Not a good look.’

Reform did not respond to a request for comment last night. All of the candidates were contacted for comment.
