Performing a celebratory ‘wheelie’ and with only one hand on the handlebars, hellraising biker Anthony Mitchell sped off having evaded police… or so he thought.
He’d managed to avoid three separate stinger devices laid in the road by traffic officers to burst his tyres.
But the 33-year-old didn’t count on a police drone following his BMW motorbike and filming his outrageous behaviour from the air.
And his luck ran out when he was bitten and badly injured by his own dog after returning home.
The following day, his partner spoke to police, who turned up at his address, and told them he wanted to hand himself in.
The spell of dangerous driving on the A548 at Mostyn, North Wales, wasn’t his first, a court heard.
In the preceding weeks, Mitchell had also managed to speed cameras in the same area at 107mph and 118mph, nearly three times the 40mph speed limit – but had removed his number plates, so hoped to get away with it, the court heard.
Yesterday, a judge jailed him for 21 months, warning the biker he could have killed someone – and condemning him as a ‘serious accident waiting to happen’.

Prosecutor Laura Knightly told Mold Crown Court that on May 16, police had been waiting for him Mitchell as he sped along.
Drone footage played to the court showed how he continued his attempts to evade the law, turning around when he saw a stinger had been laid in the road next to a police car.
Faced with another which had just been laid by a second patrol officer, he drove around it on the pavement, before continuing on his way.
He managed to avoid three stingers in total, as he rode onto pavements and did wheelies, while riding one-handed.
But Mitchell, of Prestatyn, was being monitored from above by a drone operated by North Wales Police.
Ms Knightly said Mitchell had headed to the caravan park where he lived, at Prestatyn, and the motorbike was found, along with Velcro tabs used to attach the number plate.
Police arrived to find he had been bitten badly by his own dog.
The court heard he suffered serious hand injuries from the mastiff-type pet.
He was arrested and later admitted dangerous driving.

Charlotte Kenny, defending, said Mitchell believed he had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which could lead to ‘thrill-seeking’ behaviour.
Ms Kenny said: ‘He appreciates this kind of behaviour is dangerous to the community at large. He’s had time to reflect. He’s extremely sorry.’
Judge Rhys Rowlands jailed him for 21 months and imposed a 46 months ban with an extended test. A deprivation order was made for the motorbike.
Condemning the biker, he said the A548 was a ‘well-known accident blackspot’ and there could have been a fatality.
He accused Mitchell of showing ‘brazen disregard’ for speed limits and safe driving.
The judge said: ‘One shudders to think what would have happened if a young child ran out in front of you.’
He added: ‘These speeds were incredibly high and incredibly dangerous, at times riding the motorbike one-handed. It was a serious accident waiting to happen.’
But Judge Rowlands said his dog bit injuries meant Mitchell would ‘find it very difficult to ride a motorbike in the foreseeable future’.
