This is the hilarious moment a furious woman did a fist gesture in the style of Ross and Monica from Friends during a road rage row.

The footage, filmed yesterday afternoon by a van driver in Maidenhead, Berkshire, shows her at his side of the vehicle, having gotten out of her car to shout at him.

But as she walks back to her vehicle, after getting no response from him, her road rage takes a bizarre turn – she looks right at him and bashes her two fists together.

The movement recalls an iconic hand gesture from cult American sitcom Friends.

On the popular 90s series, siblings Ross and Monica Geller – played by David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox – often do the gesture at each other during arguments.

The move, which sees them hit their fists together, is a remnant from their childhood, when they did it instead of giving a middle finger – which would have got them told off by their parents.

Before walking back to her Land Rover Discovery, in which she was a passenger, she also does a strange dance move at the van driver and calls him a k***head.

Commenters on social media found her Friends-like move hilarious, with one saying: ‘How do you not laugh after being Ross Geller’d?’

The amusing clip starts with the woman shouting at the van driver, though it is unclear what exactly about, on what seems to be a leafy residential road.

He pans to her number plate to record it for later but does not respond to her – causing her to shout, ‘Hey!’, to call his attention back to her.

Seemingly unafraid of the camera, she looks down the lens and does a strange dance move, with one hand behind her head and the other on her hip.

Another car has pulled up behind her alongside the van while all this is occurring, with the driver seemingly curious about the commotion in the middle of the road.

Walking back around the front of the van, she shouts, ‘K***head!’, at him, before looking right at him and doing the bizarre Geller-esque fist gesture.

As she gets back into the passenger seat, she does a sarcastic smile and wave at his phone camera, before the car she is in – pulled over in front of the van throughout – finally pulls away.

Commenters on social media found the moment hilarious, saying she must be a dedicated Friends fan to have taken the Gellers’ famous gesture into a real argument.

One was impressed with her reference, saying: ‘I can’t even be mad at her after the Friends hand action.’

Another spotted her nod to the Gellers too: ‘Too much Friends, eh?’

Someone else, clearly also a fan of the show, remembered the TV siblings’ famous gesture fondly: ‘I love Ross and Monica’s hand gesture.’

But another just could not get over the cringeworthy nature of the moment: ‘What an embarrassment.’

American TV sitcom Friends ran for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004, with more than 200 episodes airing in that time.

With a star-studded ensemble cast – including Jennifer Anniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, alongside Cox and Schwimmer as the Geller siblings – the show has since gained cult status.

It is one of the most popular and highest-grossing TV shows of all time.
