Kim and Khloe Kardashian were left ‘frustrated’ after claiming they were asked to remove pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at their mother Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, a body language expert has claimed.

Kim and Kris posted photographs of Harry and Meghan at the November 8 celebration in Beverly Hills, showing the pair cosying up to the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch and Harry sashaying towards her on the dancefloor.

However, 48 hours later, Kris and Kim deleted all pictures of Harry and Meghan at the James Bond-themed ball from their accounts without explanation, setting the rumour mill alight.

People magazine, the Sussexes’ preferred publication in the US, claimed that Meghan and Harry asked that no photographs of them inside the party be published.

The publication also claimed that it was understood the Sussexes had ticked a ‘no’ box on a photo consent form, leading to the removal of party images.

This week, the Kardashians claimed on Khloe’s podcast that the Sussexes had requested the pictures of them at the party be deleted because it was the night before Remembrance Sunday.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James assessed the Kardashian sisters on the podcast and has given her opinion.

She said: ‘The implications about their true feelings come from both their paralanguage, in other words, their choices of words, tone, and body language, with Khloe appearing to be more open in her cynical-looking responses.’

According to James, Khloe’s feelings towards the situation were clear from the get-go when she introduced the topic by simply saying, ‘Meghan Markle’.

The expert said: ‘Her introduction to the incident sounds laden with meaning. As she says the two words “Meghan Markle”, she puts a tonal full stop between them and uses one emphatic head baton per word.

‘There is no moment of fond expressions here as the name comes up, more some knowing eye contact to announce a good piece of drama.

‘Kim does smile slightly and tilt her head, but she also lets out an “Aww” like a small groan about the incident.

‘Kim’s tone now becomes partly recitative as though frustrated by the fuss.’

Assessing the conversation further, James continued: ‘The use of the word “photos” receives an instant correction and upgrade to “photogate” to register the drama that swirled around this incident.

She added that Kim set boundaries between herself and Meghan by referring to her as her mother’s friend.

James explained: ‘Kim seems to define some degrees of social separation by referring to their relationship with Meghan as: “Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now,” rather than calling her “Our friend”.

‘She applies some slightly defensive hand movements like a hand splay or a winding ritual as she narrates the story, and there is some heavy emphasis placed on her point that “We’re never ones to post without permission”.’

James added: ‘When they discussed the issue with Remembrance Day, they mentioned the photo was “already up”, and Khloe added a mention of a Baby2Baby event “right before”, although Kim reminded her that it was a charity event.

‘There is a hint of cynicism or even disapproval from Khloe here as she runs a hand across her eyebrows then through her hair in a dismissive-looking power-preening gesture, looking away as though pondering reflectively, while Kim adds a “whatever” to sound dismissive as though the subject is closed.’

In the podcast, Kim said: ‘I think they realised it was Remembrance Day and they didn’t want to be seen at a party.’

Kim was also clear that the images had been shared online with the Sussexes’ consent, explaining: ‘We were told that it was totally cool to post. We’re never ones to post without permission. It’s not who we are.’

She said that Harry and Meghan had changed their minds and wanted them ‘taken down’ because they didn’t want to be seen ‘partying and dancing on the dance floor’.

‘I think they realised it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party, even though it’s already up, you know, and then taken down.

‘And then I think they realised, like, “oh, this was so silly”,’ she told her sister Khloe as they discussed the so-called ‘photogate’ row for the first time on the Khloe In Wonder Land podcast.

She added that while Harry and Meghan were photographed attending the Baby2Baby charity gala the same evening, there was a distinction to be made.

‘That was fine, but maybe not partying and dancing on the dance floor or whatever,’ Kim noted. ‘So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day.’

‘It was really innocent, which is so crazy,’ Kim added. ‘Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.’

The Sussexes were among the A-listers invited to the James Bond-themed ball thrown for Jenner by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez at their $165million estate.

Despite the images being deleted, the pictures of Harry and Meghan were shared widely on social media and published by several websites in the US.

Harry looked particularly happy in one photo, putting his arm around Jenner, who was standing between him and his wife, with the prince leaning in to bring his face closer to hers.

Meghan looked far more serious, with her hand on Jenner’s shoulder.

Kris’s birthday celebration took place the night before royals gathered at London’s Cenotaph for the annual service.

King Charles and other members of the Royal Family led the commemorations in Whitehall to honour the service and sacrifice of all those who lost their lives in conflict.
