In a viral moment capturing the essence of generational humour, a 90-year-old grandmother from London’s East End was shocked at the exorbitant cost of a single drink in Ibiza.

Filmed by her granddaughter, Amie-Beth, Peggy Hunt couldn’t believe the price of an alcoholic drink in the Balearic island.

She was so surprised at the cost of the beverage, that she said she would never visit the party destination – even going as far to say she would ‘rather go thirsty’.

The hilarious video, posted on TikTok, garnered almost 200,000 views, nearly 10,000 likes, and more than 100 comments in less than a day.

In it, Amie-Beth speaks to her grandmother Peggy about how much she spent on a single vodka and lemonade during a recent holiday to Ibiza – leaving the nonagenarian in absolute shock.

Speaking in the clip, Amie-Beth said: ‘Guess how much one vodka and lemonade costs in Ibiza?’

After a moment’s thought, Peggy said: ‘Lemonade and vodka…£7.’

Aime-Beth asked: ‘What would be expensive to you?’

To which her grandmother replied: ‘What I’ve just said – £7.’

‘Have another guess,’ her granddaughter urged.

The 90-year-old said: ‘£8? Not £10? Oh no, is it more? £11? £12? £13’

While she kept guessing and upping the price, her grandddaughter told her to ‘keep going’.

Finally, Amie-Beth revealed the actual price.
