A cricket match was stopped mid-play when two warring spectators invaded the pitch and squared up to each other.

Shocking footage shows a man sprinting onto the wicket before pulling up one of the stumps and turning with it to face his pursuer.

The chaser, wielding a bat and followed by a dog, follows the first man on to the wicket as bemused players look on.

Both men appear to threaten one another before eventually leaving the field hurling insults as the players can be heard telling them to ‘get off the pitch’.

The bizarre incident happened at Connah’s Quay Cricket Club in Deeside, north Wales, as the home side took on local rivals Ruthin in a North Wales Cricket League Division Three game.
