Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo hear their baby’s heartbeat for the first time in tear-jerking first clip from their upcoming Disney+ reality show Raising Chelsea.
The pair – who tied the knot back in 2023 – announced that they were starring in their very own show, which will watch them on their journey into parenthood, earlier this month.
Sophie welcomed their son Ziggy into the world in December last year at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London.
Fans of the Made In Chelsea legends don’t have long to wait until the show airs on our screens (2 April).
And on Tuesday, the streamer shared a first look clip of the couple at the hospital at one of Sophie’s scans on YouTube.
In the footage, mum-to-be Sophie can be seen lying down on the bed holding Jamie’s hand.
‘I can’t, it’s actually a bit nerve wracking,’ Jamie says.

Sophie explains: ‘I am lying on the bed, you know, the gel is on me, and you’re just waiting for this heart beat… and it feels like forever.
‘And then suddenly you hear it!’
She has a huge smile on her face as she listens to her son’s heart beat and Sophie confesses: ‘And it’s like the best thing ever.’
Jamie is then seen asking the health care professional: ‘The heart is ok?’
She replies: ‘What I am seeing is looking beautiful.’
Jamie tells Sophie: ‘That’s mad honey!’
He then tells the camera: ‘The most magical feeling is when you hear your baby’s heart beat for the first time.’
It comes after Jamie revealed to the Daily Mail that he was ‘terrified’ and felt powerless when wife was rushed for an emergency C-section after their son’s arm was through the cervix.
The reality star admitted she was ‘really scared’ as it wasn’t the birth she had planned, but said she is grateful their son Ziggy arrived safely.
Speaking exclusively, Jamie said: ‘From my point of view, it was the scariest thing I have ever been through in my entire life. Watching your wife go through that, the person you love, and this baby, and you have no control. It was the most terrifying thing ever. Nothing can prepare you for that.’
‘The complications were really scary’, Sophie added. ‘Obviously, it wasn’t the birth I planned or necessarily wanted, it was scary, but birth is different for every woman and however you do it is incredible and he’s here and he’s healthy and they were incredible.’
Former Made In Chelsea couple Jamie and Sophie, who met on the E4 series in 2017, filmed their son Ziggy’s birth for their new three-part Disney+ show, Raising Chelsea, which follows their pregnancy journey as first-time parents.
But capturing the most important moment of their lives for TV wasn’t an easy decision or preplanned. Sophie explained she had wanted to keep it private, until the emotional footage – shot by their anaesthetist – convinced her to change her mind.
Sophie said: ‘I’ll be honest, I said, I’m really sorry guys, I really don’t want the birth to be filmed, I really need that moment to be a private moment.
‘And what happened was there were complications, and I ended up having an emergency C-section. The anaesthetist took our phone to take photos and filmed the entire thing… we didn’t even know, we had no idea.
‘The next day, I was looking at all the photos of the birth, and I was like, oh my God, there’s an 11-minute-long video. I pressed play, and it was so emotional.’
Jamie, who admits he enjoys being followed by cameras and believes storytelling lies at the heart of everything he does, confessed that even he was surprised by how in love he and Sophie appeared in the raw footage.
He said: ‘It was the most amazing, romantic, and what’s incredible about that moment, Sophie and I didn’t know it was being filmed because it was supposed to be for our own personal use, but watching it I was like, oh my God, Soph, look how in love we are, you’re seeing it from an outside perspective.
‘And Soph, after thinking about it for a long time, said I think we should put that in because it’ll be amazing to see. That was a very scary moment because the birth – I now salute all women, I walk down the street and if I see a woman with a pram I’m like, you hero. It’s unbelievable.’
The couple’s relationship has been in the public eye from the very start.
Sophie joined MIC back in 2017, and dated Alex Mytton and Sam Thompson briefly before Jamie confessed his feelings for her in 2019.
After a few hiccups, the pair moved in together in 2020 and got engaged the following year.
The pair tied the knot in 2023 and announced they were expecting their first child in 2025.
After the announcement of their new show, the two said: ‘For nearly a decade, we’ve brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives through TV, radio, social media and our podcasts.
‘It’s such an honour to now partner with the incredible teams at Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring our next chapter to viewers across the globe.
‘Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship – we can’t wait to give you a front row seat!’
Raising Chelsea streaming on Disney+ from 2nd April.
