A fractured ankle has forced her to step down from hosting this week’s election debate.

But that hasn’t stopped Sophie Raworth from taking her injury out for a spin – with a celebrity-approved accessory.

The BBC newsreader, 56, struggled to pull herself along using a £109 knee scooter near her home in west London.

Wearing Lululemon shorts, Nike running trainers and a grey hoodie around her shoulders, Ms Raworth looked determined as she wheeled herself away from the gym.

The broadcaster was due to host the last televised debate on Wednesday between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer before the election.

But earlier this month, she revealed that Radio 4’s Mishal Husain would be replacing her, saying: ‘An injury I picked up at the London Marathon has now been diagnosed as a fracture in my ankle.

‘I was only told this during the D-Day commemorations. I’m now on crutches, in a boot and non-weight-bearing for some time.’

Should Ms Raworth need any help finding her feet though, Victoria Beckham could offer some advice.

The former Posh Spice showed off her £300 KneeRover bike in March after breaking her foot in the gym. Sharing a video of the bike – a gift from her husband David – she said: ‘The accessories are endless. Think how much wine I can fit in.’
