Luxurious beach hut on one of Britain's most picturesque coasts goes on the market for the same price as four-bedroom home

A luxurious beach hut on one of Britain’s most exclusive stretches of coastline has gone on the market for the price of a four-bedroom family home.

Hut 363 sits on Mudeford Spit, a remote sandbank in Christchurch Harbour, Dorset, that can only be reached by a 20-minute walk, land train or short ferry ride.

The area is home to the most expensive beach huts in the country, and winter does nothing to cool demand.

The wooden cabin has been listed for £475,000 – comparable to a detached family home in many parts of the UK.

It was built to a high standard in 2015 and features double glazing and bi-fold doors.

It has also been rotated 90 degrees so the longer side faces the sea to maximise views.

The hut can sleep six, with two double beds in a loft area and a sofa bed in the living space.

It has a fully fitted kitchen and runs on solar power, as none of the huts have mains electricity, heating or water.

Hut 363 is close to communal toilet and shower blocks and has more outdoor space than many neighbouring huts.

Owners can stay overnight between March and October and must pay fees of more than £4,000 a year. Even so, the 350 huts at Mudeford remain fiercely sought-after.

A spokesperson for estate agents Denisons said: ‘This beach hut offers a perfect blend of modern comfort and beachfront living, making it an ideal getaway.

‘Hut 363 is situated on the sought-after Mudeford Sandspit and boasts stunning views. The hut has recently undergone renovations to meet high standards.

‘It has breath taking views through full panoramic bi-fold doors, as the hut has been expertly rotated 90 degrees to showcase its longer side.

‘This beach hut offers more outdoor space than most other options available, allowing you to take in the spectacular sea views across to the Isle of Wight. ‘

Andy Denison added: ‘We had initial interest in this as soon as it came on the market and we have viewings already.

‘We have a list of potential beach hut buyers.

‘Why wait til summer? If somebody is waiting for the right one to come up, the fact it’s winter and they can’t sleep in it initially won’t put them off.’
