This is the shocking moment a British tourist in Indonesia was chased through the streets of Bali by angry motorcyclists before crashing his car and being beaten up by locals accusing him of hit and run.
Thomas James Simpson, 40, allegedly injured two motorcycle riders and damaged a car in his Honda HRV in Denpasar on July 11 before midnight.
The British tourist allegedly refused to stop and had to be pursued by other motorcycle riders who chased and forced him out of the car.
Footage shows a group of people on mopeds speeding after the sedan in a terrifying pursuit through the city, with part of the car hanging off the front.
After the car crashes, angry locals are then seen punching into the car, now covered in damage and with gaping holes in the rear window.
Later, the driver is seen sitting on the roadside, squinting and touching his head while surrounded by locals – the car left mangled nearby.

Side windows are cracked and two large holes can be seen from the rear.
Police Inspector Ketut Sukadi, the head of the public relations department of the Denpasar Police, said on Friday: ‘The British man is under medical treatment in the hospital, and when arrested, the perpetrator had a smell of alcohol.
‘The Laka Lantas Satlantas Unit of the Denpasar Police has been assigned to this case.
‘He is being investigated for causing the crash while drunk,’ Sukadi said initially.
Police today said Simpson was found to have a ‘normal’ and ‘not excessive’ level of alcohol in his system, from blood and urine tests.
He was reportedly being treated for injuries including dizziness and bruising.
Simpson did not confirm or deny whether the bruising on his face was caused by the crash or the attacks from locals, Kumparan News reported today.
According to local outlet Antara Bali, Simpson was coming from Kuta towards Sanur when he hit motorcyclist Nanda Rifqi Arifiriza, 17 and a Toyota Avanza car near the Sanur Reservoir.
‘The first victim suffered injuries to his forehead, face, knees and broken left hand, while the Avanza car was damaged,’ Sukadi said.
Simpson reportedly continued on to Jalan Kutat Lestari Sanur, hitting motorcyclist Arya Wijaya, 25.
Head of Traffic Police in Denpasar Teja Dwi Permana told reporters today that Simpson had ‘panicked’ after hitting the cars, and panicked more after locals gave chase.
