This is the shocking moment an ‘irrationally jealous’ man stabs the doorbell camera of his former partner after years of threatening and controlling behaviour towards her.
The footage captured on the doorbell camera shows Daniel Lytollis, 35, walking up to the door before stabbing it 12 times with a knife.
During the attack on his ex-partner’s father’s home in Carlisle, Cumbria in March 2025, he can also be heard swearing into the camera before stabbing the door again.
After the woman ended their relationship, Lytollis went to his ex’s father’s house twice, bringing a knife on the second visit and stabbing the doorbell camera.
During that attack he also damaged the victim’s car, which was on the driveway.
The hostilities were the tipping point for her to contact police, prompting his arrest and conviction on a litany of offences.
Lytollis was jailed on Thursday for two years and ten months after being charged with seven offences including engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour and two counts of criminal damage.
He was also given a five-year restraining order and disqualified from driving for 25 months.

After the attack Lytollis’s ex-partner reported him to police and gave evidence of messages, threatening voicemails and videos, one of which showed him with a knife in his pocket, the North West Evening Mail reported.
Police said his controlling behaviour included following the victim at work and making her take photos of her mileage to show how far she had travelled.
Lytollis was arrested at his home, where police found cocaine and weapons including a machete.
Officers suspected he may have been drink-driving after finding empty bottles in his car but Lytollis refused to take a breath test.
He also refused to provide a breath sample in custody and was charged with failing to provide a test for analysis and possession of a class A drug.
Among his other charges were possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
Sentencing, Judge Nicholas Barker said Lytollis had used multiple methods of control as part of his ‘irrationally jealous’ and aggressive behaviour.
But he accepted that Lytollis had shown remorse.

Detective Constable Karen Minnion from Cumberland CID said: ‘Lytollis subjected the victim to various threats, controlling behaviour and caused damage to the victim’s property.’
DC Minnion said she understood it may be ‘difficult and distressing’ for victims of abuse to talk but said police worked closely with trusted agencies to tailor support to individuals’ circumstances.
‘This case highlights how behaviours can escalate and we would encourage anyone who has been victim to a domestic offence to contact police so that our officers can investigate. You will be supported throughout our investigation,’ she said.
‘These offences will not be tolerated by Cumbria Constabulary, and we will do everything within our power to hold them accountable for their actions and bring them to justice.’
