This is the moment two mindless thugs crashed a stolen BMW into a care home during a police pursuit.
The crash which took place at Highcliffe Care Home, Sunderland, on July 10 contributed to the death of two elderly residents and hospitalized eight people after a ceiling collapsed.
A woman in her 80s and another in her 90s died the day after driver Sam Asgari-Tabar, 21, smashed into the care home for dementia patients on a test drive for the car he stole alongside Reece Parish, also 21.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows the blue BMW 3-series, which had reached speeds of 100mph during the chase, careering into the front wall of the home before its back wheels are lifted into the air.
Debris and dust swirl into the air outside the home following the collision, while police jump out of their car and run to arrest the men out of shot.
Parish fled the scene but Asgari-Tabar was arrested by the car.
A 94-year-old resident suffered fractured vertebrae and others were evacuated to another care home due to the ‘catastrophic impact’.
The victim was hospitalized for months, has to wear a brace and has lost all her enthusiasm, Newcastle Crown Court was told on Monday.

The pair, who have been told to expect a ‘substantial’ jail term, stole the car with a woman, who was selling it on behalf of a relative, still inside, prosecutors said.
The BMW 3-series had been reported stolen from an address in Fenham, Newcastle, at around 9.20pm during a test drive.
Officers located the vehicle and following a short pursuit it crashed into the care home around 15 minutes later.
Parish, of Sunderland, appeared via videolink at court, having previously admitted to robbing the car.
Emma Dowling, prosecuting, said: ‘The care home was subject to what is described as a catastrophic impact by the car.’
The home suffered £260,000 of damage and the loss of capacity cost the owners £411,000.
Ms Dowling said: ‘The financial loss was nothing compared to the loss of the homes for these elderly residents.’
Photographs taken at the scene shortly after the crash showed the extent of damage caused to the care home, with an entire wall obliterated and furniture visible from the street.

Asgari-Tabar had earlier pleaded guilty to robbery and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The men were not charged in relation to the deaths of the two elderly residents.
Parish had already admitted a separate charge of violent disorder after he took part in widespread trouble in Sunderland city centre in August 2024.
Asgari-Tabar was banned from driving and had been serving a suspended sentence for attacking family members.
Judge Stephen Earl will sentence the pair on 11 November and warned they face ‘substantial’ custodial sentences.
