This is the moment an out-of-control paraglider wiped out a hiker after crash landing on his first flight using a DIY kit.

The man had been flying over Mount Toratau in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic on July 29 before speeding out of control and smashing straight into the ground.

Footage from the incident shows the paraglider soaring over a green field at speed while hanging on to his yellow-winged flier.

But within seconds he comes crashing down before hitting an oblivious hiker head on, sending her flying backwards due to the impact.

A second clip shows emergency workers scrambling to rescue the woman as a team of five carry her on a stretcher down the mountain foothills to an ambulance.

Russian Federation Ministry of Emergency Situations in a statement: ‘In Bashkortostan, a paraglider fell on a tourist.

‘On Mount Toratau in the Ishimbay district, a man made a hard landing directly on top of the woman.

‘She was injured and unable to move on her own.’

They added: ‘Emergency Ministry personnel and volunteers transported the injured woman on a stretcher to an ambulance.

‘The woman has been hospitalised. The paraglider received minor bruises.’

It’s unclear if police have charged the pilot with negligence.

It comes after a woman’s paragliding flight to conquer her fears ended in tragedy in March when she slipped off her seat mid-flight and fell to her death in a Colombian forest.

Daniela Barrios had uploaded a photo to her social media account prior to the deadly flight and advised her friends and family that she was finally ready to get the better of her flying phobia.

Barrios and the pilot took off from the El Castillo mountain in the Quidío municipality of Calarcá but during the flight she fell from her seat while they were flying over the Pradera Alta trail, according to the Calarcá Fire Department.

The pilot was unable to stop and continued the flight until he was able to land.

A horrified witness saw her fall from the paraglider and immediately sought emergency assistance.

A search-and-rescue mission was launched and firefighter’s located Barrios’ body in the middle of the night.

She did not show vital signs when she was found and was pronounced dead at the scene.
