Mystery of missing beauty influencer: A chilling final text, a 'dark figure' and a blood-splattered apartment are among the clues as hunt goes international

The blood stains that spattered the missing influencer’s flat horrified the photographer.

Stefanie Pieper, 32, had failed to turn up to a photoshoot on Monday, and the anxious snapper she was meant to work with decided to visit her home in the Austrian city of Graz to see if she was okay.

But he was greeted by her on-off boyfriend, 31-year-old Slovenian Peter M., said to be an unsuccessful amateur poker player who moonlights as a part-time security guard, who let him in.

Worried for her safety, the shutterbug quickly called the police who descended onto the area, and found Stefanie’s phone in a bush.

Investigating her disappearance, following a second report from neighbours who heard ‘loud noises’ coming from Stefanie’s flat on Sunday, police read her final chilling final texts.

‘There’s a creep in the stairwell’, she told a friend over WhatsApp, adding that whoever it was she saw cut a ‘dark figure’.

So far, no one has been able to contact her after she was last seen at 7am on November 23. Her loved ones don’t even know whether she is alive or not.

What is so far known is that she was coming back from a nightclub, where her boyfriend also was.

Local media reported that the two apparently did not see each other there.

She told a friend that she was being driven back home in a cab to take her Golden Retriever, Marlow, for a morning walk.

As she was getting back into her flat, she sent her friend the final texts about the ‘dark figure’.

Then, silence.

Since then, her boyfriend has been arrested in neighbouring Slovenia, trying to cross the border.

His red Volkswagen Golf was found burned out near the Mond Casino in Šentilj, a town just south of Slovenia’s border with Austria.

Peter reportedly could not explain why his car was on fire when he was arrested by Slovenian police.

Currently in custody, the man is set to appear in court for an extradition hearing on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, local cops said that two other men are under investigation. It is not currently known if they are also in custody.

Cops are still searching for her, with sniffer dogs being sent to Peter’s grandmother’s home to dig in her garden.

She was described at being around 5ft 9in, with shoulder-length, dark blonde hair and a slim build.

She also has her mother’s name, Csilla, tattooed on her left forearm.

Csilla Legenstein has launched a public appeal for any information that may help locate her daughter.

She said: ‘My daughter has been missing since [Sunday] morning. Any helpful information will be financially rewarded.

‘Please help me find my daughter.’

Police are now preparing for the worst, and have not ruled out that a violent crime may have been committed.
