Princess Sofia of Sweden has proved she has an outfit for every occasion, switching up her attire after attending glamorous boat trip to a more casual outfit for a playground opening in honour of her son, Prince Julian.

The Swedish Princess, 39, attended a boat party yesterday (16 June) in Stockholm with other Swedish royals to celebrate her mother-in-law, Queen Silvia’s, 80th birthday.

The glamorous royal attended the milestone event alongside her 45-year-old husband, Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, Duke of Värmland – who is the only son of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, and is currently fourth-in-line to the Swedish throne.

For the occasion, Princess Sofia wore a striking red and white dress with a bold rose motif and beige block heels, while her husband looked smart in a dark blue suit and crisp white shirt.

This summer is proving to have a hectic schedule for Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden who have already carried out another engagement in less than 24 hours since the family boat party, attending the inauguration of Prince Julian’s playground at Naturum Getterön in Varberg today (17 June).

Princess Sofia ditched the formal attire in favour of a matching floral skirt and top, and casual white trainers, while Prince Carl Philip swapped his suit trousers for relaxed beige chinos, but opted for the same smart shirt and jacket combination as yesterday.

The Princess is well known for her stylish outfits whatever the occasion, in partcular her stylish power suits.

Sofia was spotted last month in an elegant blue trouser suit for the launch of an educational game in Stockholm, pairing the statement two-piece with neutral accessories.

The couple were photographed exploring the playground hand in hand with their youngest child, Prince Julian.

In 2019, King Carl XVI Gustaf decided that Princess Sofia’s sons, as well as those of Prince Carl Philip’s sister Princess Madeline, will not have HRH titles, nor recieve tax payer funds, allowing them more freedom when they’re older.

Yesterday’s event was a more formal affair, seeing the Swedish royal family come together to mark Queen Silvia’s milestone birthday.

The royal actually turned 80 last year on 23rd December 2023, but the family has waited until June this year to carry out the official celebrations.

On Saturday 15 June, a private birthday party with 275 guests was held at Stockholm Castle, with a boat party hosted by King Harald and Queen Sonja taking place on Sunday 16 June.

After the royals departed from the Norwegian royal ship, the Swedish Royal Family hosted a birthday lunch at Ulrikdals Palace.
