A beach hut has gone on the market for £17,000 in a popular Suffolk resort – but the buyer will not be able to enjoy a sea view.

The vibrant green unfurnished hut sits on a grassy area on top of a cliff in Brackenbury Fort, Felixstowe.

But rather than the glorious views of the Suffolk coastline, prospective buyers of the chalet will instead be met with the sight of a long line of huts.

The empty 7ft 7inch by 6ft 10inch hut is located near a car park and public toilets. It is described as having a ‘unique design’ while being ‘perfect for families’.

The modest hut has been listed by local independent estate agent Diamond Mills with images showing two white plastic chairs sitting outside with potted flowers and a rolled up windbreaker inside.

‘Information Beach hut 259 will sell equipped with the items you see in the photos making it the perfect blank canvas to truly make it your own.’

The hut is located just a stone’s throw away from the former site of the Brackenbury Battery – the coastal military defence line built to defend Harwich port.

It was armoured with powerful guns and was operational during the First and Second World Wars.

The site was later turned into a housing estate and is now grassland.
