Shocking CCTV has caught the moment an ‘extremely dangerous’ drunk driver – who was nearly three times over the limit – drove the wrong way down a dual carriageway for miles, as police said it was ‘sheer luck someone wasn’t killed’.
Ayodeji Odukoya, 27, of St Ives, Cambridgeshire, narrowly avoided oncoming cars as he travelled along the A14 in the early hours of March 25.
On Monday, he was handed a suspended sentence and disqualified from driving following the incident.
Dramatic dashcam footage shows a lorry driver desperately trying to flag the danger Odukoya posed to other drivers as he swerved across the lanes in his white Volkswagen Passat.
The lorry driver can be seen in the video repeatedly flashing his lights at Odukoya and gesturing to him out his window.

Odukoya blew 96 at the roadside, more than twice the legal limit, and went on to provide an evidential reading of 86 in custody.
The legal alcohol limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for driving is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
CCTV and dashcam footage from the concerned lorry driver showed Odukoya travelled between Histon and Caxton – a distance of around 12 miles – on the wrong side of the road, narrowly missing vehicles coming towards him.
Odukoya was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months after pleading guilty to dangerous driving at Huntingdon Crown Court on Monday.
He also pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Odukoya must carry out 200 hours unpaid work and has been given a two-month curfew which will be electronically monitored, meaning he must stay home between 7pm and 5am.
He was also disqualified from driving for four years and must take an extended re-test.

Sergeant Jamie Cooper, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: ‘It is sheer luck that someone wasn’t injured or killed.
‘Drink and drug driving will not be tolerated on Cambridgeshire’s roads and you should expect to pay the maximum penalty if you are caught.
‘I am thankful to the members of the public who quickly called us to report Odukoya’s driving.
‘His driving not only fell far below what we would expect of a competent and careful driver, but was extremely dangerous and put lives at risk.’
