Shocking footage has emerged of a sickening head-on crash on a narrow, winding road which caused a motorbike rider to be flung into the air. 

The terrifying collision between the motorcycle and a ute occurred near Berowra Waters, in Sydney’s north, about 8:36am on Sunday, October 8.

Dashcam footage recorded from a vehicle travelling behind the ute captured the crash on a backroad between Berowra Heights and Berowra Waters. 

As the driver of a white Ford Ranger ute approaches a sharp curve going up a hill, a motorcyclist heading in the opposite direction is seen suddenly emerging from the blind corner. 

The ute then comes to a sudden halt, its brake lights visible in the dashcam footage, as the motorcyclist momentarily disappears from view.   

Moments later the rider is seen flying into the air and landing heavily on the edge of the road following the nasty collision. 

The rider’s motorcycle also collapses on the side of the road. 

The motorcyclist appeared unresponsive and is seen lying face down on the road wearing dark coloured clothing and a white helmet. 

Two male occupants of the vehicle, including the driver, step out of the ute, visibly shaken by the incident. 

The pair, along with another woman who is seen wearing a dark green top and black trousers, rush to the rider, who remains motionless on the ground.

The rider is believed to have suffered several broken bones and a dislocated shoulder. 

The male driver checks on the motorcyclist’s welfare. 

He is then seen lifting his arms up in disbelief at the woman approaching the scene before the video cuts out. 

Footage of the distressing incident uploaded to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page was flooded with hundreds of comments from users. 

‘I hope that both the rider, & the driver have a quick recovery (injury & shock). Thank goodness the rider didn’t go over the side.’ one user wrote. 

‘Hope the rider makes a full recovery,’ another said. 

‘Ouch!’ wrote a third. 

Others however said the motorcyclist needed to be more aware when they were approaching the bend in the narrow road. 

The motorcyclist appeared unresponsive and is seen lying face down on the road wearing dark coloured clothing and a white helmet 

‘Looks to me like biker needed to be more cautious, car was completely sticking to the left, the bike was not at all…’ one user said.  

‘Bike rider learnt their lesson the hard way,’ another wrote. 

‘Old mate should be thankful he didn’t bounce off the other way.’

Daily Mail Australia contacted NSW police for comment.  

Berowra Waters is a popular day-trip destination in Sydney, located near some of the city’s major waterways including Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River. 

The area is frequently used for light boating activities by locals and tourists alike including berthing for boats and kayaks.
