A wedding singer has divided the internet after berating a guest for interrupting his song.
Taking to TikTok, Punch the Air band shared a clip from their performance at a wedding in Staffordshire whereby a woman came on stage to ask the lead singer a question.
While many Britons may occasionally slip in a song request to the band or DJ during a wedding, the lead singer found the move particularly irritating, so he paused his song to address the situation.
The singer requested the guest leave the stage through the microphone, but she failed to, which resulted in him halting the performance.
After she left the stage, the singer addressed the crowd, ‘Can we stop [for] a second, please? Can you please not jump onto the stage? Can you please not talk to me during the middle of the song and stop me from playing what I’m doing?
‘It’s very, very upsetting. If anybody comes on the stage… They can ask me whatever they want to, but please don’t jump on the stage and stop me from playing.
‘It’s very dangerous, there’s lots of cables and things,’ he added before starting the song from the top.
While the band thought the guest acted out of order, many viewers have a different perspective and instead claimed the singer acted inappropriately, which has, in turn, created a heated debate on TikTok.

Punch the Air band has caused a storm on the internet after claiming a wedding guest had ‘no respect’ because they came on stage during their performance in Staffordshire (pictured)
Punch the Air reiterated their thoughts in an overlay text, writing, ‘Disgraceful behaviour from a wedding guest. Stops the band mid song. How not to act a wedding reception.’
The wedding band added in the caption that the guest had ‘no respect’ for them and that she was ‘#outofcontrol.’
However, viewers challenged their perspective, with one writing, ‘I’d be fuming if I hired a band for my wedding and they spoke to one of my guests like that!
‘Yes, her approach wasn’t correct but professionally that could have been dealt with so much better.’
A second agreed, writing, ‘Mate you’re not the main act on the pyramid stage. Chill out.’
Another joked that the post might affect the band’s business, writing, ‘Oop this may not help with bookings.’
A fourth wrote, ‘If that was my wedding, I’d ask you to pack up and get a refund. It’s a wedding, people drink a bit, she didn’t do anything truly wrong. You’re not the main character, grow up.’
A fifth sarcastically said, ‘Great advertisement for your band though. Really fab. Just the energy you want at a wedding.’

The indie rock band asked the wedding guest to leave the stage before resuming their performance
However, one came to the band’s defence, saying, ‘Am I the only person that agrees with him?’
It comes after a bride was left fuming after a ‘disrespectful’ guest refused to take his screaming baby outside – despite the nuptials being strictly ‘adult-only’.
Claire Kendall Taetz, from Fort Worth, Texas, had just walked down the aisle when she began to hear a bawling infant behind her.
Praying that the parent would take the child outside, Claire began to grow increasingly ‘irritated’ as the wailing persisted, leaving her unable to focus on delivering her vows.
One wedding reveler caught the incident on camera, with a clip showing the baby continuing to howl as the bride and groom, Joshua Joe, both 25, exchanged vows.
They can even be seen swapping ‘concerned’ glances as frustrated members of the wedding party search to spot where the screeching is coming from.
According to Claire, who works as an actor, some of the guests even went as far as to ask the father to leave – but he refused on the grounds that he had ‘driven ten hours to see it’.
He then took the child outside ‘for a second’ before returning to catch the rest of the ceremony.

Viewers took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the clip – and many agreed with the guest
The bride said she was distracted from the ceremony by the baby’s sobbing and she felt ‘disrespected’ given she’d requested a child-free wedding aside from the pair’s nieces and nephews.
Footage of the wedding, which was shot in October, has been viewed 2.5 million times on social media.
Claire, who kept her surname, said she wanted to encourage future brides to keep their wedding’s child-free to avoid the same fate as her.

Wedding guests left shocked after the best man makes a shocking admission about the bride

She said: ‘No children were invited aside from our nieces and nephews and I wish that our wish had been honored.
‘Once I made my way down the aisle and my sister had re-adjusted my dress I was made aware of the baby crying.
‘At first I understood babies can have a bad time and I was hoping the parent would promptly take the child out. But as the officiate went on, so did the crying.
‘I was holding my tongue because I don’t think it’s acceptable for a bride to say something.
‘I looked at my mum and she was gesturing to take the baby out so he stepped out for a second but he came right back inside.
‘I was confused but also trying to stay present because it was an important moment so I tried to focus on my soon-to-be husband and on the officiate.
‘My husband was concerned as well and in the video you can see he was trying to lock in, despite the child fussing loudly.
‘I was just on edge the whole time. I wanted to be fully present for my vows. The crying baby definitely distracted me and left me feeling disrespected.’
She stressed that it was not the child’s fault, but rather that ‘the father didn’t have the courtesy to excuse himself out and that took away from the atmosphere in a monumental moment of my life’.
