A tiny flat opposite luxury department store Harrods that is smaller than a parking space has hit the market for a shocking £270,000.

The flat, in the heart of Knightsbridge – one of London’s most expensive areas – is just 6.6 square metres – and has room for just a tiny single bed and microwave.

At 1.8m by 3.6m, it is far smaller than the average UK parking space, which comes in at 2.4m by 4.8m – making it 11.5 square metres and almost double the size.

The Brompton Road flat is so small it has room only for a single bed, wardrobe and a tiny microwave and hob.

Yet the ad, which appeared on Rightmove by agency Grow Portfolio, bizarrely describes the tiny flat as a ‘stunning studio apartment’ which is the ‘epitome of luxurious city living’.

It is so cramped inside that the hob is right at the end of the bed, with a small separate bathroom opposite.

The bathroom is just as small – with a mini sink, toilet and shower.

For storage, there are just two shelves in the main living space, a built-in wardrobe and a cupboard nest to the microwave.

A small fold-out table and slim window complete the studio flat.

Photographs of the building itself do portray a sense of luxury, in stark contrast to the flat’s interior, and show a large, beautiful entrance hall.

The space is tiled and contains flowers, sofas and tables. A curving staircase takes residents to the upper floors and ornate light fittings hang from above.
