The powerful moment workers helped save a trapped kangaroo has been captured on camera.

Alvin, Godfrey, Romolo and Noel found the marsupial stuck in a wire fence just outside Pinnaroo, in South Australia.

The beekeepers sprung into action and started separating the fence to free the distressed animal’s tail and legs.

Footage shows two men holding the fence apart while another assisted the kangaroo.

Once the kangaroo could stand on its own two feet, the animal glanced at its saviours and hopped away.

The men could be heard cheering after they waved farewell, clearly happy with their efforts.

Denise Kyriazis, who knows the men, wasn’t surprised they saved the kangaroo.

‘(They are) such genuine nice guys, hard working, always happy,’ she told The Advertiser.

‘They are all professional beekeepers … their job is to maintain beehives in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria.

‘They work long hours in sometimes hard conditions.’
