A new photo shows a tragic family portrait of a dead mother, son and daughter as their older brother appears in court charged with triple murder.

Nicholas Prosper, 18, appeared in court today after he was arrested on Friday when police found the bodies of his mother Juliana, 48, brother Kyle, 16, and sister Giselle, 13, in a flat in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Officers rushed to the block of flats following reports from neighbours of shots being fired and found the bodies at 5.30am.

The defendant, who was wearing a prison-issue grey jumper and tracksuit bottoms, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the brief appearance at Luton Magistrates Court.

He has also been charged with a number of other offences related to the murder. Police have stated a firearm was found during a search of the area.

The case will be sent to Luton Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on September 18, 2024.

As Prosper was led to the cells, a man believed to be Prosper’s father stood up in the public area and said: ‘I still love you son. I know it’s not your fault, okay?’.

A family friend described Juliana, Kyle and Giselle as ‘beautiful souls’ and said Julie was ‘a strong loving mother to four beautiful children, who were her absolute world’.

The family friend told The Sun that Juliana was ‘a keen athlete and enjoyed raising money for charity’ and was ‘always putting others first’.

They said Kyle was ‘creative and thriving on TikTok, a big talent with massive potential’ and that his friends were his ‘everything’.

The friend added that Giselle was ‘a beautiful soul and caring young girl’ who ‘loved her family and big brothers’ and was ‘an exceptional pupil’ at Lea Manor High School.

Headteacher of Lea Manor High School, Jess Pather, said: ‘We are deeply shocked at Lea Manor High School by the tragic incident that occurred on Friday in our local community.

‘We are devastated by the loss of our pupil, Giselle Prosper. Giselle was a beautiful soul and a model pupil.

‘She excelled in all her subjects and will be sorely missed, particularly by her friends in Year Nine. It will take us all time to process what has happened.

‘Our thoughts go out to everyone in our community and neighbouring schools who have been affected.’
