A Vinted seller has revealed her top tips for boosting sales on the fashion and beauty resale app.
Laura, who hails from the UK, has had roaring success on the app since joining and now shares advice on TikTok to help others flog their unwanted items.
The seller, who regularly amasses thousands of TikTok views and, according to The Sun, has made £2,500 on the app in the past three months, shared her ‘one tip’ for increasing sales on the app – by strategically selecting a specific time and day to post items.
In the video, captioned ‘If you’re not posting on this day… you need to be’, Laura revealed that Sundays are the seller’s best bet for securing sales.
‘A Sunday is amazing,’ she said in a TikTok, which has since racked up over 20 thousand views.
The reason is that most 9-5 workers will be busy enjoying nights out on Fridays and spending time with friends and family on Saturdays, leaving Sundays the day most are free to scroll.
Sharing her theory, Laura explained, ‘I feel that on a Saturday people have plans, Friday night people are perhaps out.’
‘It makes logical sense. We all know what it feels like everyone starts getting the Sunday scaries – in the early evening, in the late afternoon – and so all of a sudden, they’re at home.’

She had even figured out the best time on Sundays when buyers are most likely to be scouring the app for bargains.
Laura theorised it would likely be later in the day when people were ‘chilling out’ and ‘watching TV’.
‘Even if you’ve got kids, you’re trying to wind your kids down a bit earlier on,’ she said.
‘So, I feel like it gets to potentially four o’clock and people are scrolling on their phones… people are looking to buy!’
Based on this timeline, Laura urged entrepreneurial sellers to test the theory themselves by posting their clothes at around 4pm.
‘So, from four o’clock, if you’re thinking of trying it for the first time, try posting it and then try and upload a few items,’ she said.
‘Don’t just do one and run,’ she warned, suggesting the sellers try their luck posting multiple items to see the response.
‘Try and do like four or five items on a Sunday and see what response you get.’

Viewers took to the comment section to share their thoughts on Laura’s advice, with one writing that they had tried the hack and seen a positive response.
‘I have followed your advice, posted this morning and got lots more to add today’, they wrote.
Another commenter pointed out that posting items on payday is a good time to grab buyers’ attention.
Chiming in, they wrote: ‘Payday week and on payday is also one of the best times to post and get sales, people more likely to buy an item they favourited.’
A third commented that they had found weekend evenings another good time to post and suspected many were women shopping while on nights out.
‘I’ve found Friday and Saturday nights 12am-2am works well. I suspect it’s the girlies shopping while on a night out.’
A fourth added that they are going to put Laura’s advice into action, ‘Manifesting this to happen to me’.
Laura isn’t the only successful Vinted seller to have figured out ways to take full advantage of the resell app.

How to make thousands selling old clothes on Vinted: Secrets of sellers who have turned huge profits

Now based in Edinburgh, Zakia, 37, uses the online thrifting app – that gained popularity among Gen Z and millennials during the Covid pandemic – to sell one-of-a-kind pieces from her own closet.
Over the past two years, Zakia has earned £1,200 from the app – and picked up handy tricks to close a deal on the app along the way.
For instance, if you find something that is particularly difficult to sell, Zakia recommended reposting it with a price that’s 50p lower than your original listing since ‘reducing your items regularly works quite well’.
This is especially helpful if you want to maintain your ‘Frequent Seller’ badge, she told The Sun, but don’t have enough stock to flog.
She explained: ‘I always start by knowing what I would absolutely sell it for at a minimum so that I can reduce the price if needed. Once it’s posted online, I just want it to sell.
‘So, if I’m reposting, I knock off £1 or 50p. Reducing your items regularly works quite well.’
The founder of Invisible Cities also suggested looking through your wardrobe for branded items from labels like Cos or Uniqlo that don’t fit your style since these can go for a pretty penny on Vinted.
Finally, she advised that Vinted isn’t just for clothes; selling beauty and skincare products – so long as they are unopened and still in their original packaging – can ‘make a lot of money’.
